I loved it, stylish, chic and very Megan, the tiara was beautiful, she wore it well. Standout outfit for me was Amal Clooney, what a stunning colour, thought Pippa looked gorgeous too, posh, not so much....... what did you all think?

I think Botox stops you smiling, laughing, frowning etc.
Don't even think about it Anniebach - you could be carted off to Madame Tussaud's!

Jalima1108 Fri 25-May-18 10:51:14

I expect HM smiled and laughed at the reception - we will never know

Anniebach Fri 25-May-18 11:17:55

Egeletine, Jalima, I don’t even use face creams ? so doubt I would consider Botox,

Jalima1108 Fri 25-May-18 11:18:50

My MIL always said that face creams gave you whiskers and she wouldn't use any!

Anniebach Fri 25-May-18 11:19:25

Things which happened in the reception are being leaked in America,

"Queen of England Laughs"

Anniebach Fri 25-May-18 11:25:05

Prince Charles speech has been made public there

pollyperkins Sat 26-May-18 13:54:20

Atqui the picture you shared of the Queen laughing was after the ceremony outside the church and obviously its a joke they are all sharing. I think she feels it is right to look serious in church during the ceremony.

DanniRae Sat 26-May-18 15:11:37

The poor Queen - if she was pictured laughing and smiling in church she would be criticised so she sits there acting in a suitably dignified way and she still gets criticised. What is supposed to do, please tell me? confused

icanhandthemback Sat 26-May-18 15:31:23

Surely there is a balance DanniRae? She didn't need to be laughing but did she really need to be quite so grim looking. Mind you, compared to Elton John she looked positively perky smile. I have a resting b**ch face so I fully understand how difficult it can be to look cheerful but both of them looked like they were actively down mouthed.

Anniebach Sat 26-May-18 16:25:44

When you get to 92, and your husband is unwell and if you are in a Church you have worshiped in all your life and your parents and sister are buried there perhaps you wouldn’t be smiling. Many do take church services seriously

Jalima1108 Sat 26-May-18 16:32:38

I think she feels it is right to look serious in church during the ceremony.
It don't think she looks grim, just serious.

She has perfected the art of not showing her emotions in public - perhaps she really wanted to shed a happy tear at the sight of her beloved DGS marrying his love.

Anniebach Sat 26-May-18 16:59:08

Perhaps she was relieved that hopefully his wild years were over

Nanna58 Sat 26-May-18 17:11:00

I have a resting b***h face too, got so sick and tired of men, always men, saying “cheer up love, it might never happen “ that I have just treated myself for my 60th by having my ‘marionette’ lines filled- wish I’d done it years ago! So maybe this is the queens problem too!

Jalima1108 Sat 26-May-18 19:21:55

Well, if my 'resting face' on my passport photo is anything to go by, the security would be detaining me for further questioning.

I never looked like this years ago .....

lemongrove Sat 26-May-18 21:44:57

grin
Passport photos are awful aren’t they? DH says he looks like one of the Krays in his.
I look like my Grandma.

merlotgran Sat 26-May-18 21:51:55

In my younger years I looked like one of the Baader-Meinhoff gang. grin

I have just renewed my passport and was determined to get a half decent photo so I made my hair look as ok as possible and put a bit of eye make-up on. Well the first photo was terrible - who had they taken the photo of? It definitely wasn't me. So another one was taken and guess what? It was flippin worse. I gave up then and, yet again, I have an 'orrible passport photo...........strangely enough the ten year old photo in the old passport looks quite nice NOW!! grin

My passport photo isn’t good but it’s not as bad as my poor sisters. We flew into a very small airport in Spain and both handed our passport over. Mine was given back to me and they took my sisters into a back room. When it was bought back it was clear that he’d shown it to his colleagues and they’d had a good laugh. She was embarrassed but I was bemused and said they must have had to check it against their data base for some reason and forced her to let me look. Well honestly I almost wet myself laughing. I’ve never seen anything so awful. We both think that there’s a ‘rogues gallery’ in our local passport office were they pin terrible photos and check them out when they are having a bad day to cheer themselves up with a good laugh and hers is centre stage. She really takes an awful photo, her children say if they marry I’ll have to be her stand in for the photographs and I don’t take a particularly good photo myself.

I've just renewed my passport, but the previous one wouldn't work in the automatic lane and the border force people would call over colleagues so they could both peer at it, then at me, then back to the photo, back to me, eventually waving me through a bit reluctantly. I didn't think I'd aged so badly, but one official did say "It's a very old photo, Madam". I saw a preview of the new Mamma Mia film recently where a passport official tells Colin Firth that time has played a cruel trick on him. Same here, obviously.
