I love Megan’s style but oh my goodness what has she got on at wedding in Lincolnshire (the bride looked fabulous) it looks as if possibly the shower curtain got wrapped around her and there wasn’t time to get it off, maybe she has been told to cover up more but ye gods, it swamps her, obviously she likes it because she is wearing it, but in my humble opinion a no no☹️

Nice fabric but I thought the dress just looked a couple of sizes too large for her and because of that more like a dressing gown.

I was wondering what it reminded me of and shower curtain is about right.

I also love her style so I'm surprised she wore something so unflattering. It swamps her.

Certaintly not a flattering outfit.

MawBroon Sun 17-Jun-18 11:38:21

Blimey - perhaps designed to not upstage the bride? (Being charitable) grin

Anniebach Sun 17-Jun-18 11:41:59

Perhaps she was trying to make up for the too much flesh style on the balcony

I suppose she's trying to fit in with the RF and searching for her new look. This isn't it! I remember Diana wore some awful outfits at times in the early days too.

I quite like the dress its very fashionable but it does look a bit too big on the top. I think the new Duchess has a way to go before she finds a style that suits her and the role she now occupies. I think it very unkind of the DM to put her very small slip (?new shoes on grass) on a loop so it looks like she is dancing- not funny.

I think it is very pretty, not everything has to be close fitting.

Scribbles Sun 17-Jun-18 12:29:14

It looks as though it was bought for someone at least one size larger.

Anniebach Sun 17-Jun-18 13:10:15

Too much print with too much dress

Luckygirl Sun 17-Jun-18 13:23:12

I love that dress!!

But the shoes - yuk!

How would those commenting if everything they wore were criticised by everybody around them.

Give the poor woman a chance. If she turns up for official engagements inappropriately dressed, that is one thing, but what she wears to a private engagement is nobody elses, business but hers.

merlotgran Sun 17-Jun-18 14:28:48

Criticised by everybody around them? hmm

Just commenting on the dress.

petra Sun 17-Jun-18 16:28:18

I don't think it will see the light of day again.

merlotgran Sun 17-Jun-18 16:48:12

Maybe the real dress is underneath?

Nannylovesshopping Sun 17-Jun-18 16:53:49

merlotgran of course that is the answer ???

maryeliza54 Sun 17-Jun-18 17:50:06

Looked like a dressing gown/nightie to me. Of course we can criticise it - it's absolutely awful. And I'm not apologising to anyone on this thread who knows her/is a friend/ is related to her.grin

SueDonim Sun 17-Jun-18 18:01:43

It's next year's High Street fashion trend, I've read! There are lots of flowery, voluminous dresses in the shops now and the trend is towards 'men-repelling' outfits, apparently. Who knew frocks were so political?

It's not so different from the Laura Ashley dresses that were so popular in the 70's & early 80's, really, although it does look too big on her.

maryeliza54 Sun 17-Jun-18 18:09:26

But much less likely to get upskirted?

lemongrove Sun 17-Jun-18 18:11:46

Having now seen this frock ( floral horror) I think there are several dresses under it Merlot grin
On the plus side ( and it certainly is) you could stash a good number of vol au vents in it without other guests being any the wiser.

maryeliza54 Sun 17-Jun-18 18:12:08

Oh dear apologies - I know it’s not a joking matter but som3 men have been advising we should dress in such a way as to stop men being tempted

maryeliza54 Sun 17-Jun-18 18:12:38

Has it got pockets?

janeainsworth Sun 17-Jun-18 18:17:38

Well, I like it confused

merlotgran Sun 17-Jun-18 18:18:59

What's next for us then? Burkas? hmm
