New in at M & S.....Made out of the left overs from the dress? We could wear these for meet ups....

Jane10?? Noticed in an M&S advert the other day this weird practice of having half your shirt tucked in and half out- only shown from the front where the shirt divides so can only imagine what a bunched up mess it would be at the back!

goldengirl Sat 18-Aug-18 12:43:13

Some of Joe Brown's clothes have the M&S shirt look. I like Joe Browns but the M&S shirt seems to be trying too hard though I can't really say why. The green dress is awful.

...other costume dramas may be available..

I'm waiting for the Poldark version.

Jalima1108 Sat 18-Aug-18 10:18:44

as long as I don't have to iron them! I'll show them to DH and he'll have the iron and ironing board out before you can say 'linen trousers crease'! And will then iron them for me grin

Auntieflo Sat 18-Aug-18 09:44:24

By jove, that's it then. The wardrobe mistresses misread the number of costumes needed for Star Wars /The Handmaid's Tale, made too many, then sold them off at a bargain price to the buyers at M&S. (Other costume dramas may be available)

Blinko Sat 18-Aug-18 08:53:27

Anybody thinking of auditioning for the Handmaids Tale? This would go well with that headdress they wear.

gillybob Sat 18-Aug-18 08:42:59

It would fit in well on a Star Wars set wouldn’t
it Auntieflo ? grin

I wonder if they have sold any?

Auntieflo Sat 18-Aug-18 08:29:55

My first thought on the green dress, was that it was from the wardrobe of a Star Wars film. Obi Wan's alternative costume?

phoenix Fri 17-Aug-18 22:33:26

Jalima nothing at all wrong with linen trousers, as long as I don't have to iron them! I did, of course mean the dress, although I think the word "frock" might be more appropriate!

lemongrove Fri 17-Aug-18 22:24:57

I enjoyed ruckarses post btw it cheered me up no end.

lemongrove Fri 17-Aug-18 22:23:35

I am expanding already Jalima ( nothing to do with maternity though.) I may have to buy that green dress.
Please rush me a size Lxxxxxxxx in a plain brown wrapper.

Jalima1108 Fri 17-Aug-18 21:31:57

phoenix I hope you're referring to the dress not my linen trousers (casual but just OK if worn overseas!)

MawBroon Fri 17-Aug-18 21:25:20

I take it back as I have now seen the othe picture of it.
Humble pie eaten!

Deedaa Fri 17-Aug-18 20:57:37

I'm lost for words really. Did someone actually design this?

annodomini Fri 17-Aug-18 18:16:36

There is nothing interesting about that dress! I know I'd look like a sack of spuds if I tried it on. I did think about going to M&S today but road works are again making it difficult to get in and out of our village, so got more or less stuck!

phoenix Fri 17-Aug-18 17:39:33

Dire!

Jalima1108 Fri 17-Aug-18 17:33:51

Is it a maternity dress? You can let out the waist as you expand.

I shocked myself by buying two pairs of trousers in M&S yesterday - a linen casual pair and another pair in white linen shock
They were half price, should do for my hols.

Fennel Fri 17-Aug-18 16:16:59

I've noticed that Tesco seems to copy M&S clothes, cheaper versions.
They've got the pseudo tartan styles too. I think they're awful. Shirts like lumberjacks wear.
I do like dark green, but won't be buying that dress.

Charleygirl Fri 17-Aug-18 15:37:07

You have to admit that the dark green is a better colour than the germolene pink dress but that is all I am afraid.

Chewbacca Fri 17-Aug-18 15:04:03

I think you'd look like a sack of potatoes tied in the middle! Look out for it on the next sale rails?

M0nica Fri 17-Aug-18 15:02:23

Nooo! It looks like a nightdress. It would be ever so warm to wearing in bed on a cold night.

Jane10 Fri 17-Aug-18 14:44:43

Hmmmmm. Is that another in their 'modest' range?

MawBroon Fri 17-Aug-18 14:42:14

On a slim tall younger (50-ish) woman I think that could look OK

GrannyGravy13 Fri 17-Aug-18 14:24:25

Chewbacca that certainly gives the germolene pink dress a run for its money!!! ?????

Chewbacca Fri 17-Aug-18 14:17:29

You're a difficult lot to please, so I present this for your delectation. New in for the autumn season.
