Tired of the unrelenting white of my hair I asked my hairdresser to put some dark lowlights in yesterday with the intention of a more silvery grey pearl effect.
Well it looked fine there, if a little dramatic as she had put very fine black lowlights assuring me that a few washes would fade them to the grey I wanted.
Today - no go. I just didn’t like it.
Hairdresser couldn’t fit me in as they were shutting early for the BH weekend so I bought some hair dye remover from Superdrug.
Never ever do this.
The black faded OK but to a ghastly ginger/apricot colour! Another application faded that further to a sort of strawberry blonde in places ??? so I tried yet again and apart from a slight blonde cast at the side, I think I have got away with it, but never, ever again.
Due to be at a big family do at DD’s on Monday (plus her inlaws) I was seriously thinking of throwing a sickie or buying a burqa.
That was a lot of money down the pan too. ???

You look lovely!

I have a friend who pays a fortune to get her hair to look like yours!

I wonder Maw that you are not concerned about your privacy when you post a picture of yourself? When you posted about your neighbour who was taking you for granted re lifts etc, (and I agree that she was out of order) I was thinking that someone who recognised you would have told her about your post!

I am reasonably, if not very, certain that she does not know anybody on GN tassie

For what it's worth I think you look stunning . I have been colouring my hair for years, it's still dark and I'm wavering about going " natural" ie grey. However its the growing out phase that really puts me off, if I could just waken up and be grey it would be great. !!

It looks good!!

At least it has some light about it - mine is so very dark - I am still contemplating the pink streaks!

You look lovely although I realise the hair debacle was a month ago so it's probably all grown out now smile

Did she listen?
Apparently not.

It looks fine, Maw.
Your photo looks just as I imagined you.
I wish we'd been able to meet up when I was staying near you. I'm up at the other end of the country now.

I raely go to a hairdresser, hate sitting amongst everyone else, [i used to like the cubicles] and also a cut ,colour ,and blowdry is around £60, i colour my own, and have highlights which now have tuyrned to all over blonde
There iis colour at home called colour mask, [about £5] which you mix in a small bowl provided, the colour i tried was pearl, which was lovely, but it literally was a pearl colour, silvery grey/white, but i didnt want it so white
I would have a look at this of you want to try again at home
My daughter thought it was lovely, it looked very shiny too
