I thought she looked great. She has lost a lot of weight and I really liked her dress, with the flattering shape. No veil, just a tiara keeping it more simple. She looked so happy.
Best of luck to them.

Acording to mumsnet ,the dress cost £250,000 thats TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND pound!!!How could it not be lovely at that price?

I’ve recently directed a poster to this thread. With the name change I hope she finds it.?

Jalima1108 Mon 15-Oct-18 17:59:54

Jalima1108 Mon 15-Oct-18 17:59:41

SueDonim Mon 15-Oct-18 17:57:31

Me too Merlot, I am afraid that will be my name for her now.

What a pity the thread title has been edited. Given today's announcement I think the old one was more appropriate.

PECS Mon 15-Oct-18 15:59:59

Maybe he was, asking the guests, " Bride or Groom? " & directing them to the right side of the aisle grin

Anniebach Mon 15-Oct-18 13:10:56

Perhaps he was with them when they left the Quire before the service

gillybob Mon 15-Oct-18 12:09:49

Much the same as a regular attendant I would imagine annsixty except for the fact that he was "special" wink

annsixty Mon 15-Oct-18 12:02:45

To add to the question of Beatrice's role ,what did the S of Edward and Sophie do in his role as "Special Attendant"?
His sister did seem to look after the young children.

Oh dear! I really like the book, Fitzgerald was a good writer but not sure Gatsby would be my hero..no matter how lovely his smile was!

Anniebach Mon 15-Oct-18 11:06:03

PECS, it was reported she had read the book !

PECS Mon 15-Oct-18 11:02:55

Annie I hope she just looked it up on a "wedding readings" website and actually has not read the whole book!

Jalima1108 Mon 15-Oct-18 10:33:02

SueDonim grin
Photos to remember!!

Anniebach Mon 15-Oct-18 09:06:57

I think it was just that one passage PECS ?

PECS Mon 15-Oct-18 08:38:46

Did she do the odd choice of reading from Great Gatsby? I was confused by the choice as Gatsby's life was a terrible sham and one of desperate brash social climbing. He was a good looking character..but with poor morals and who met an untimely death. Why choose that to describe your groom? hmm

stella1949 Mon 15-Oct-18 08:14:03

I didn't see Beatrice doing anything - I was confused by her title of Maid of Honour when she didn't do any of the normal MOH duties. Just sat with her mother and chatted.

Dh & I accidentally photobombed someone's wedding photos earlier this year. You'd have needed to bring your editing skills to the fore, Paddyann. grin Our Dd & SIL had asked us to come and collect our 5mth old granddaughter from the wedding so they could spend the evening at the dance. Through a glass door I spotted the wedding party were outside and thought 'Aha, there they all are!' and we opened the door and stepped out.

To my horror, I realised we were now at the top of a flight of stone stairs and even worse, the wedding party was all artistically arranged around the steps, with a photographer with a gigantic camera taking photos and also a drone in our faces! In panic, we tried to go back inside but the bl**dy door had shut behind us and had no handle on the outside so we were stuck like rabbits in the headlights! shock shock

At that point, my Dd saw us and dragged us away behind a wall until it was safe to come out again. We took our GD and sneaked away as unobtrusively as possible but all evening people kept saying to dd 'Was that your mum & dad we saw earlier??' Poor girl and poor bride and groom! grin

I am still puzzled over the fact that she was 'maid of honour' as surely she would have worn a dress and walked behind the bride, organising the younger bridesmaids, pageboys etc and sorted the train? Thinking Pippa here!
I only saw the first half of the ceremony so she may have carried out maid of honour duties later.

Lichfield used a whistle to get childrens attention so it is possible .We have more subtle ways

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 22:52:39

Yes, I would love to be able to tell him what to do, where to sit etc grin

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 22:51:00

Would you want to be in charge of Phillip Jalima ?

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 22:49:05

The photographer should be in charge!

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 22:42:05

I liked the photograph Paddyann, doubt the photographer had time to wait for the children to settle, Phillip must have been eager to rest
