I thought she looked great. She has lost a lot of weight and I really liked her dress, with the flattering shape. No veil, just a tiara keeping it more simple. She looked so happy.
Best of luck to them.

So are you saying there isn’t a huge gap between the bride and her mother Annie because there is whilst the groom is standing almost shoulder to shoulder with his father. In my opinion this was a deliberate and cruel attempt to keep SF as far away as possible which is cruel and nasty.

I’m not arguing anyway, the photo tells it as it is.

This photo shows exactly what I mean.

I think they're all perfectly position gillybob, or have I got the wrong link?
She does look nervous though, unlike her exuberant self.

positioned

The mention of Fergies FIL.In my own mind I've always thought that once he pops off they will remarry.

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 17:31:12

I expect the photographer positioned them all and that won't be the only photo. Who was the photographer? - it all looks rather stiff and too posed, even for a royal photo.

Willow500 Sun 14-Oct-18 17:34:04

Looking at the photo I don't really see how they could have positioned people in any other way. They had to get the dress in full view necessitating a gap between the Queen and bride, Sarah is standing to the right of Phillip, she's not that far from him and they had to put Beatrice somewhere so other than squashing her in on the end I think that's looks fine. There are a lot of people in the photo as all those children had to be in it too.

I loved the whole wedding, the dress - she looked beautiful - and the fact that they both looked so happy. I also thought the children behaved wonderfully - their parents must have all been so proud of them.

The link right above your post above is the photo I am referring to (it starts pagesix) It just seems to me that they have positioned the mother and the father of the groom perfectly close to him whereas the mother of the bride is way out . Might be just me but it looks like a deliberate attempt to sideline her.

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 17:37:42

Can’t understand why the MOTB is not standing next to the bride when the FOTG is standing almost shoulder to shoulder with him.

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 17:38:02

Still want do I know? Nothing much.

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 17:39:37

They are furthest away from HM and PP though (the groom's parents) - sort of family but not quite yet?
If we are looking at the subtle psychology behind the photo.

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 17:39:51

Because the queen is in the photograph gilly ,it’s that simple ,

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 17:40:45

and The Dress and Train

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 17:45:06

The grooms family on the grooms side, the brides family on the brides side, that is correct, if queenie and Phillip hadn’t been there it would have been Andrew next to the bride , balance

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 17:48:52

And how lovely to have two 90+ grandparents in the wedding photos.

merlotgran Sun 14-Oct-18 18:06:12

I think the photographer would have been struggling with trying to make it all looked balanced. Does protocol dictate that nobody (especially children) should sit in front of the Queen's legs?

Putting a gap between Beatrice and Fergie might have been the only way to do it which meant she was slightly further away from Prince Philip for it to work.

It all looks very stiff and formal.

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Oct-18 18:20:24

In the photos I've seen Mia Tindall looks fed up and a bit grumpy.
Probably needing her lunch, poor girl.
and thinking 'get me out of this frock and into some jeans please'.

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 18:52:21

Just what I said upthread Jalima little Mia looks bored stiff.

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 18:55:56

Will have to agree to disagree . I think the mother of the bride should have been more central than sister or granny and grandpa.

MagicWriter2016 Sun 14-Oct-18 19:00:39

I thought Eugenie looked stunning, better even than Harry’s new wife ( have forgot her name). Her and her new husband looked so in love and she was just radiant. I am not really a fan of the royals and do think her mum and sister and her have had to put up with a lot of ‘abuse’ from the public over the years, so good on her having the sort of day she wanted. And her granny is the queen after all!

paddyann Sun 14-Oct-18 19:01:03

its a very badly posed group ,as a photographer of over 4000 weddings in my career I can assure you its not a well balanced formal group at all. I've been inundated with calls and msgs from friends in the indusry who are appalled at it,was it a case of using a hobbyist who doesn't understand that family issues shouldn't be seen in the final images? Certainly no professional with any experience would get away with handing this to the happy couple .

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 19:12:26

Well what I know about photography I could write on a postage stamp but I still think that “family” group photo is appalling. Poor Mother (and father) of the bride shoved to one side just doesn’t seem or look right to me .

Anniebach Sun 14-Oct-18 19:12:39

What family issues can be seen?

gillybob Sun 14-Oct-18 19:17:46

Wow paddyann where were you when I needed you ? DH and I were married in 1999 and our photos were so bad I refused to take them out of the shop ( although he insisted I paid in full which I did) I’ve got a few amateur photos but even they were better than the so called professionals . One is so funny I wish I could share it . Basically it’s me and DH in the Park in front of a pretty lake except that a swan has its neck ( but not head) coming out of my side and I look like a coffee mug ! grin
