Megan’s choice of outfit at the Endeavour awards, what was the stylist thinking? Is it a dress? Is it a shirt tucked in wrong?I have been liking her styling lately but someone missed the mark tonight!

@Nannylovesshopping

Her clothes always seem to be unsuitable and unflattering for her- except for the cream Goat dress she wore at Charles birthday daytime do- Has she no stylist

A lucky lady is she who can wear such high heels with no puffy ankles from having to be on her feet on what must be such tiring occasions in her advanced stage of pregnancy .

Bridgeit Mon 11-Feb-19 17:37:14

Sadly it’s Not a very pleasant chat.
It seems to encourage bitchness
Men do not tend to behave this way to each other .
Can you imagine a group of men discussing Prince Harry ie oh those awful trousers he was wearing far to tight darlings!

Anniebach Mon 11-Feb-19 12:53:02

To be honest, with the world in turmoil a chat about clothes is a welcome relief

welshyjac2 Mon 11-Feb-19 11:14:11

To be honest, with the planet in danger of becoming one huge landfill site, huge islands of plastic taking over our oceans, and thousands of people dying every day through war, sickness and starvation; I couldn't care less about what anyone wears, or if the whole Royal family appeared stark naked at an official function.

Bridgeit Mon 11-Feb-19 09:25:37

I wonder why woman are so ‘ bitchy’ ?I can’t imagine men discussing Prince Harry & how he’s changed his style, or observing that he now holds his arm across his chest, struts around in a look at me I’m going to be a Dad sort of manner etc etc. Thought we were better than this ladies! especially as we are Mums & Grans & would not like to have our families discussed in this manner ?

Fake bump - is she not really pregnant Allycat?

Allykat1946 Mon 11-Feb-19 07:54:52

Terrible look and that fake baby bump is a very unnatural shape and so the clothes don't sit right... she doesn't need to keep her hand on the fake bump because she is used to having it now...

I think that of course their are posters from different ethnic backgrounds. However you don't have to be Sherlock or that regular a reader to glean that the majority of posters reflect the make up of UK as a whole with the addition a few more far flung GNers! 87% of UK is white. I am part of the 2% mixed wink

Anniebach Sun 10-Feb-19 21:38:42

Oooops, does my name give any clues ????????

Magrithea Sun 10-Feb-19 19:46:58

I loved the outfit and everyone is entitled to their own style! It's tough enough to look good at 7 month pregnant without everyone wading in with their opinion

I agree with 123coco Leave her alone!

HurdyGurdy Sun 10-Feb-19 16:35:36

Oooooh PECS. I'm interested.

How do you tell a poster's ethnicity from their user name? I've read lots of posts from lots of posters, and I don't think I've seen anyone identify their ethnicity in them.

What's the giveaway clues?

annep1 Sun 10-Feb-19 03:09:45

Easybee sounds like my pregnancy wardrobe. Maternity clothes were much nicer than the tight fitting things people wear now- so unflattering. We can celebrate pregnancy in a loose fitting garment. And what's so special about the RF that we can't criticise their clothes? We do it with other celebrities.
I didn't like the outfit at all. More money than sense. How could Harry like this?

NotAGran55 Sat 09-Feb-19 21:48:10

If you are going to discuss the woman - or anyone else for that matter - please at least respect her by spelling her name correctly .

petra Sat 09-Feb-19 21:40:24

jura2
I think you need to check your facts before you jump in and state something that's not tue.
A poster made a comment about Wallis Simpson.
I disagreed with that comment and gave an instance why.
My posts had no reference to Merlots posts.
Why the question about Merlot being Swiss?
It's obvious from her very witty post that she couldn't possible be.

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 20:07:22

PECS why the need to speak of a woman as of mixed race and mainly white posters ? There was no need . I will not feed your need , no more to say to you on your decision to bring the colour of skin into a chat about a woman’s maternity wear .

eazybee Sat 09-Feb-19 20:00:41

I liked my maternity clothes; nearest I ever came to having a capsule wardrobe.
Two pinafore dresses, not too baggy; two pairs of trousers with a fetching expanding panel; two smock type tops, a sleeveless summer dress and one long dress. Plus an assortment of blouses, unbuttoned, and stretched jumpers worn underneath, and cotton nighties worn as dresses in the hot summer months. Oh, and a lovely swimsuit with a floating panel.

Skweek1 Sat 09-Feb-19 19:39:18

I hadn't seen the outfit, couldn't care less what she wears, but just looked it up. Didn't think it was very flattering, but I wore an elasticated maxi skirt and a few t-shirts, a gypsy blouse and a pair of maternity slacks for the last4 or 5 months and I'm sure that many people didn't think that was particularly flattering either. No doubt she'll be expected to lose stones within days of the baby and dashing round looking glowing, fresh,, happy and relaxed in a pretty bright outfit, suitable for the occasion.

PECS Sat 09-Feb-19 19:08:53

Yes I did Annie I was describing the general GNer demographic compared to that of the woman being discussed. That is not ""bringing race into it" ..that is you noticing race over age and wealth which I also mentioned as descriptors. It is not necessarily helpful to be blind to someone's race, to pretend it isn't there!

Nanny41 Sat 09-Feb-19 18:38:02

Seadragon, thank you for the link, I hadnt seen the photos before, and I cant understand what the fuss is about,ok its not very flattering, but what is when you are so pregnant. She carried it off well I think.
Lets hope she has the baby soon and the fashion "police" can cease.

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 17:27:05

PECS you spoke of skin colour

Nannylovesshopping Sat 09-Feb-19 16:56:50

The lovely Megan could be green and purple striped with
orange spots coloured skin, it was still an unusual maternity
outfit, now can we all please give it a rest, I promise never
again to comment on what anyone is wearing in the press?

PECS Sat 09-Feb-19 15:52:54

* annie* really you are not so naive. I also mentioned age. Why pick on just one thing. Stop wooden spooning.

Bridgeit Sat 09-Feb-19 15:37:46

I’m sure plenty of us have chosen, worn & adored clothes which on reflection & on seeing photos or put on again have thought to our selves Why? Why did I choose that, let alone go out in it or to an event.!
I looked like Bo peep in one particular get up, but at the time I thought I was the ‘bees knees ‘ ( never quite got that phrase?) leave the woman alone, get on with your own lives, but be sure to look in the mirror before going out!
Oh & by the way , have any of you noticed or commented Prince Harry’s outfits ! ?

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 15:27:12

Pity race has been brought into this, chatting about clothes has nothing to do with the colour of skin,

Should Yasmin Alibhai-Brown stop criticising the queen because they have different skin colour ?
