I can highly recommend the 'New in' tencel shirts £29.50. I bought one in pale pink.
Not worn yet but fits fine, is soft and a lovely colour.
Also the ochre and black dress which was £49.50.
A young woman passed by when I was holding it up against myself to see if it suited, asked where the rack was and rushed off to get one.

EDIT: GNHQ here. Here's the link to the dress pictured to save you searching. smile

Lazigirl - many thanks, just ordered it in size 10, hopefully it fits. Shall keep you posted. Thanks again.

One of my daughters bought this dress / tunic from Fatface at the weekend - I tried it on whilst babysitting for her last night and it looked ok with skinny jeans, so might get one too, as I have a discount code

Note to self - don’t wear it at same time as daughter smile

I think the Fat Face dress is a lot of money for what is, in essence for most older women, a thin top.

Lisagran Mon 09-Sept-19 09:58:15

I agree - and wouldn’t be tempted without the discount code! I’ll see if they’ve got it in the shop locally later and have another look. One downside is no pockets - I like pockets!

Here’s “the” dress . Shown with my RI jacket and without .

DH said he thinks it’s nice but, and I quote “ when would you ever wear it?”
Which is s good question as I rarely go out .

DD said she thought it was “ a bit too much red for me” ????

The problem being that they are both probably right but I do love it .

I bought this M&S dress on-line last year. Lovely colours, soft material and it has pockets!!! Downside-it needs ironing.
But it was only £12

Lisagran Mon 09-Sept-19 10:30:09

I like that dress Trisher

I like your dress too, Gillybob. I should think it looks good on you, but I too would struggle to think when I’d wear it. They have a biker jacket in the window in Bon Marche locally that would go with it.....
If I get the Fatface dress (same material as yours), I’ll pay £44.50, as I have a voucher. I’m usually more of a charity shop / sales person, so we’ll see!
Anyway, better get some work done smile

.

GabriellaG54 Mon 09-Sept-19 11:06:00

TBH gillybob, I don't think it's 'too much red' (but then I don't know how it looks on you) however, I think it would look better with a jacket in black or a much lighter shade such as pale pink.
The buff coloured jacket, although very 'now' and great with other items, doesn't provide enough contrast with the dress to make it stand out. grin
I hope you keep it and try other jackets with it to see what I mean...although other GNers may well disagree with my opinion. flowers

gillybob Mon 09-Sept-19 13:54:04

Thank you Lisagran and Gabriella smile

The buff coloured (a kind of imitation suede) is one I have had for a while but I understand what you mean about it not being enough of a contrast.

I am still dilly dallying about whether to keep it or not. I don't have anything in pink but do have a black cord (western style) jacket and a pale green denim jacket. Will try them on to see.

Thank you again, I value your opinion smile

SirChenjin Mon 09-Sept-19 14:05:24

I bought this dress in petite at the weekend and wore it with my high heeled tan boots, my little denim jacket from Mango (well, my 20 year old daughter's denim jacket, I've stolen it) and my slouchy tan bag. I thought I looked pretty darn good!

Lisagran Mon 09-Sept-19 16:02:46

Very nice, SirChenjin What a stylish lot we are grin

SirChenjin Mon 09-Sept-19 16:17:44

Thank you - we certainly are grin

Lazigirl Mon 09-Sept-19 19:35:22

Great. Really nice. I love the outbreak of dresses. Makes a change from leggings and bum covering tops.....

Grannycool52 Mon 09-Sept-19 20:04:25

Gillybob, your dress is lovely.
I like nearly all the ones pictured above on this thread but I definitely hope you decide to keep this one, Gilly.
Find a reason to go out in it, even just for coffee or lunch!

gillybob Mon 09-Sept-19 21:46:34

I agree there are some lovely dresses around at the moment Lazigirl and most of them seem to suit most age groups too.

Thank you Grannycool52 it just seems so extravagant to keep a dress (£49.50) that I might never wear but I really do like it very much. Decisions, decisions ....... smile

GabriellaG54 Mon 09-Sept-19 21:51:38

Very nice too SirChenjin ?

Grannycool52 Mon 09-Sept-19 22:14:12

Gilly, you like it very much and it's lovely - go for it & please do wear it!

Lisagran Mon 09-Sept-19 22:14:38

Gillybob - do the cost-per-wear thingy - if you wore it 10 times, it’s £4.95 per wear / 15 times....is beyond my maths, but not a lot grin. There’s family birthday teas, night out with OH, school plays and Christmas concerts coming up, etc., etc

Grannycool52 Mon 09-Sept-19 22:16:17

Gabrielle &SirChenjin, I like yours too and all sorts of temptations are arising in my mind.....

Grannycool52 Mon 09-Sept-19 22:18:05

Sorry, Gabriella.

Auntieflo Tue 10-Sept-19 19:40:47

Gillybob, go on, spoil yourself for once
You have our permission ?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 10-Sept-19 20:24:04

When my sister, daughter and I sorted my Mothers wardrobe out after her death, she had so many items with tags still attached in her “best wardrobe”.

I wear what I feel like......and yes sometimes I am overdressed for Aldi and the biggest sin of all under dressed for Waitrose ????

Luckylegs Wed 18-Sept-19 15:56:14

I sent for the aviator jacket on Gabriella’s recommendation but I’m afraid it’s gone back this morning. I felt and looked very mannish in it. It was a bit too big for me and I’ll try a smaller one when I’m in store but it didn’t do anything for me. What a shame, I was excited about that!
