After twelve weeks of no haircuts, beauty treatment, nails, eyelashes and eyebrow treatments what are we all going to look like. Men wont be able to get to the barbers for hair and beard trims either!!!!

My hair is longer than it's been for years (almost 40) as I grew it when I was Matron of Honour for my friend last month the family haircut was scheduled for this Saturday which I couldn't have gone to anyway (was supposed to be going to the Tutankhamen exhibition with my friend sad so was resigned to having to wait another 6 weeks, my hair is going to be practically on my waist in another 12 weeks, I was also going to get my daughter to dye my hair during the Easter holidays so I'm going to look like a badger. Thank God I have a Flawless so at least I won't have a beard as well grin

I had one Strawberry but found it very painful to use, although I didn't use it on my face, just my legs.

Rufus I can remember one of my DB complaining that other DB too far too long in the bathroom and we decided he pulled his whiskers out one by one with tweezers.

You hairy ladies need an epilator,I would be lost without mine.Upper lip and chin hairs gone with a short sharp tug, painless and satisfying and under the eyebrows I use a single tweezer epilator bring careful not to slip of course.Be lost without both ?

Gave up getting hair coloured a few years ago when there seemed more grey in the roots to cover and I retired..... now a real silver lad-. and for the first time since the 80's trimmed my own hair today.. do own nails, and hair removal and OH cuts his own hair.. so we're good to go except we can't.. staying at home, for the NHS and all of us!
Stay safe people!

Trooper7133, Errr? How did you manage to take photos of me and DH Eh? Me? grin What I look like after this is over is what I look like. As long as I am still breathing in and out, then I'll be grateful. Stay safe everyone xx

Tillybelle I hope I won't end up looking like MY dad - he had a black beard (could still happen though if I have to stay home too long) smile

Love your family photos - I really laughed at those!

Maggymay Wed 25-Mar-20 23:18:09

DH says he will have to have a man bun grin

Had mine cut into a shoulder length Bob a couple of weeks ago thankfully. I dont have any treatments outside the home, just do my own face packs moisturiser etc myself. Wear make up when out of the house but that isn't going to be happening now. I don't suppose I will look much different!

Hawera1 Wed 25-Mar-20 22:29:07

Yes I will be grey with hair that flies all.over the place. Lots of wearing hats. Not looking forward to the grey.

Callistemon Wed 25-Mar-20 22:20:31

Tillybelle I love your hair colour! Is that au natural?

Oops, I can see a few grey roots showing already

Mirren Wed 25-Mar-20 22:14:55

MawB you are gorgeous . You have a lovely face and you are a wonderful advert for " growing old gracefully " .
I too am an " au naturelle" supporter.
Had my short bobbed , grey hair trimmed a week ago .
No colouring, no make up , no nails ; nothing . Never have bothered .
I'm no glamour puss but I don't think I'm too ugly to gaze upon
I don't pong!
Close attention paid to daily personal hygiene. Daily bath ( at least ) , clean hair , teeth ,clothes .
My only " thing " is trying to control my weight . I am a great fan of WW , which is closed .
I might be a bit heavier after all this but I am trying very hard!

I've also had my nails done in a neutral colour. At about 4 or 5 weeks I'll use acetone to remove the gel. I buy a bottle in Boots for about £1 and pop some into a small dish, like you'd use for dipping oil. Soak my fingernails for about 5 minutes, take off what I can with a little nail tool that comes in a manicure set, and then do a second soak. It dries your nails but they'll come ok. I paint on 'nail nurse' as it gives a faint healthy sheen and I'm no good at the ordinary nail polish, it always looks amateurish.

My hair is short but so thick and no matter how much it is thinned and chopped into it always grows out like a mushroom. Fortunately I can make a fair stab at cutting it if necessacy, my hairdresser had even given me a pair of her old thinning scissors to use between appointments. My cutting is anything but perfect but it will be passable. The benefits of having a choppy spiky hairstyle. I can only see the front anyway smile

Face hair, I can never manage the home waxing so tweezers at the ready and hubby's razor if I get fed up.

If that’s all you have to worry about you’re very lucky. Try working in a busy Hospital! Sorry

Jennyluck Wed 25-Mar-20 20:14:31

I had my nails done in a neural colour , so hope they’ll be ok. But my hair , oh dear, just missed out getting it cut. I colour it myself anyway.

grammargran Wed 25-Mar-20 19:53:24

I’m more interested in what’s going to happen with TV presenters like Fiona Bruce and Julie Etchingham, etc. Are they doing their own make up and hair? Is Laura Kuenssberg’s going to grow as we watch her questions to Boris? And can you imagine Naga Munchetty with long hair? It’s going to be fascinating to watch ....

Hetty58 Wed 25-Mar-20 19:49:32

I've cut my fingernails very short. it's more hygienic and practical for gardening. I'm not going within two metres of anybody - so it doesn't matter!

Podiatrists are still going out to patients.Ring your normal clinic.I know this is correct as my daughter is one and I am very worried that she is expected to visit patients with a pair of plastic gloves and plastic apron, nothing to really protect her.

Annaram1 Wed 25-Mar-20 18:29:22

Travels. aren't you young!

Annaram1 Wed 25-Mar-20 18:26:17

So that's what you look like Maw! Ive often wondered. Very
glam actually! More of us should post our pics,,,,

travelsafar Wed 25-Mar-20 17:43:11

Quizzer, i think you need to read my second post before saying what you did about more money than sense. I was saying that it is younger women like my daughter DIL's and nieces who will struggle not myself !!!!!! All i have done is a hair trim every 5 weeks and a visit to chiropodist when necessary for comfort. I wish people would get their facts right before jumping on others!!! angry

Callistemon Wed 25-Mar-20 17:20:15

I'm just wondering if I was neanderthal before all this hmm

BoBo53 Wed 25-Mar-20 17:12:37

As long as our loved ones and our country come through this I don't think any of us will mind what we look like. Stay safe and well everyone. Xxx

Quizzer Wed 25-Mar-20 16:46:09

Travelsafar obviously has more money than sense. It's not so long ago that everyone did their own nails, no one but the wealthy could afford beauty treatments, we all had a pair of eyebrow tweezers. Ok haircutting is not so easy to,do yourself, but everything else is!
The "because I'm worth it" generation have got their priorities wrong.

Quizzer Wed 25-Mar-20 16:38:12

Try home hair colour. It's really easy and a fraction of the price of a salon. Go for a more expensive brand, in my experience they last longer.
