When I was a child / teenager this was a huge brand , I think everyone in our village bought stuff from The Avon Lady .

I had no idea they were still going until they popped up on our village FB page offering 64% alcohol sanitiser.

The last thing I reminder buying was a football ⚽️ soap-on - rope for my brother as a Christmas present when I was 16 .

Does anyone on here buy from them still ? Any recommendations?

My sanitiser is being delivered this morning along with a catalogue for old times sake smile

I use the Skin so Soft dry oil spray as a moisturiser and it is an effective insect repellant.

Yes, I love Avon products, no Avon lady here for the last six years so I buy online through Amazon.I did try the Avon site but it really isn’t a good/easy site to navigate.
I really like all their products, especially a good daytime perfume called Perceive. Their products are made in Europe I think, in Poland.

My husband uses Skin So Soft as a fly repellant, it's very effective. I see why flies avoid him, it stinks the house out.

Ah, Moonwind.... my first ever ‘grown-up’ perfume. I loved it. Until I dropped the bottle and it shattered, spilling the contents into the night storage heater in my bedroom. It soaked into the heat storage bricks during the day, and then as it warmed up at night, the scent intensified.

Two years later when we were selling the house, viewers all commented on the beautiful scent of our ‘air freshener’.

I also loved Pretty Peach, both soap on a rope and the beautiful round boxes with a powder puff and loose talc. I got those in my Christmas stocking every year.

Topaz will always remind me of my Mum at a particular time. And Occur...

I’m really sorry Avon don’t revive some of those - call it a heritage range or something.

Do you remember the Pretty Peach basket that was a jar of cream perfume - with the raised cluster of peaches on the screw-on lid? It was so cute.

geekesse Avon's original perfumes are still available but they've been renamed apparently. I found this list of what the original perfume was called and what it's called now:

Bird of Paradise : Replaced by Far Away
Brocade : Replaced by Sweet Honesty
C'est Moi!: Replaced by Rare Gold
Butterfly : Replaced by Perceive
Elusive : Replaced by Imari
Here's My Heart : Replaced by Mesmerize
Topaze : Replaced by Rare Gold
Moonwind : Replaced by Timeless
Occur! : Replaced by Candid
Somewhere : Replaced by Sweet Honesty,
Unforgettable : Replaced by Odyssey

Chewbacca, thank you, that’s useful to know. No luck this evening, though! I’ll keep trying.
