Bought myself one today on the advice of my daughter! I absolutely love it and it will go with so many things.
Makes me feel young and trendy again!
I’m 66 and a size 14!
Anyone else got one?

Hi There
I’m late 50’s and although I don’t have a Jean jacket as such I do have various colours of the Roman Originals Stretch Pocket Detail Jacket £38.00 .I love bright Colours 😁💜💚🩷

I love my denim jackets. I have a shorter one and a hip length one. Both blue.
I'm in my 70th year and don't intend to give them up yet.

I have two. One I cut the sleeves off of and the other I'm going to embellish. (I'm 72)

Yes - I have three ! 74 years old next month. I don't wear them all the time but they do get worn out and about.

Fae1 Fri 23-Feb-24 13:22:33

Why not Ladybella ?

Tenko Fri 23-Feb-24 13:30:43

I have 2 , a blue denim and a faded black denim . I wear them loads in the warmer weather either with a dress or a midi skirt . It’s less frumpy than a cardigan.
I also have 2 leather biker jackets black and navy blue . Which I also wear with dresses or jeans . The secret is to get a size larger than your normal size .
I also wear dms with dresses and skirts .

I love mine ! Brilliant over Spring/ Summer dresses . I am 70 and no way would I stop wearing them. Don't wear them with jeans however, a tad OTT I feel.

MissAdventure Fri 23-Feb-24 13:50:08

I think the Edinburgh ladies who lunch should all wear a denim jacket on their next meet.

That would make a lovely photo. smile

69 years old and I've got a blue M & S denim jacket. There is no 'too old' for clothes like that!

Lindyloud Fri 23-Feb-24 14:07:34

Marydoll

I quite fancy one! ?

So do I!! Flirted with one last year but at 71 I chickened out!! Think over summer dresses a light blue would be good!

MissAdventure Fri 23-Feb-24 14:12:59

I quite fancy one myself now!

Havemercy Fri 23-Feb-24 14:16:36

I'm coming up 70 years of age and I absolutely love my denim jacket. Don't care what anyone thinks of "my look" - it's great with summer dresses and I feel good wearing it.

This is a 3.5 yr old thread with no recent post added on. Is this a mistake? Or does someone want to continue this conversation… already 8 pgs long?

MissAdventure Fri 23-Feb-24 14:17:44

I don't see how a jacket can be "too young" young, really.
It's just an outer layer.

sunglow12 Fri 23-Feb-24 14:21:43

I am 71 and have a fleece lived one from Primark , cream one and another in France . So am sure nobody cares if I wear it or not and they were all cheap and wash well ! 🙂

So sorry, I just refreshed the page and I see women are talking about denim jackets.

Here’s what I know about denim (jeans, jackets) - it is not a warm fabric. Jeans (and jackets) will not keep you warm in winter. If the object of your jacket is to cover up arms or add as an accessory to your outfit, it’s okay. The look is just okay.

Personally, all the cute jackets I tried to incorporate in my wardrobe just left me feeling out of sync. In the Goodwill bag.

I am debating to get a longline denim jacket from The White Stuff. I rather like the pink or maybe cream.

MissAdventure Fri 23-Feb-24 14:31:41

Have them both!! smile

Bazza Fri 23-Feb-24 14:38:32

I can’t imagine what else I would wear over a summer dress. Never been a cardigan person. I’m 78. What has age got to do with it?

Daffydilly Fri 23-Feb-24 15:06:29

I'm 60 this year and love my denim jackets. I have to say I'd never even considered I could be too old for one. That's definitely food for thought.

As for double denim, I guess it all depends on how important being 'in fashion' is to a person. Surely if it looks good and you're OK then that's fine?

Maremia Fri 23-Feb-24 15:11:27

Love mine. They look great with long summer dresses. Still have one my sister gave me in the 80's.

Milest0ne Fri 23-Feb-24 16:21:26

I have a lovely one which is printed with a pattern and has appliqué and embroidery accenting the printed design. I bought it in US along with several other jackets. Several of them look good with Jeans. They do have good jackets over there.

Saggi Fri 23-Feb-24 16:22:08

I’m 73 ….and size 14 ….and just bought one .

HelterSkelter1 Fri 23-Feb-24 16:31:55

This thread has cheered me up no end!!! I wasnt going to buy any new clothes this year as I have Far Too Many.

But for a denim jacket I will make an exception
