I was recommend L’Oreal Peony face cream by a friend. It has been awful, when you apply it you are supposed to get a rosy glow but it’s like tanning cream, it has been extremely drying on my skin and looks streaky, , I have persisted with it for weeks as it wasn’t cheap, a friend today commented how different my skin looked. I feel as if I’ve damaged my skin as it’s dried out.
Has anyone any idea of anything I can use to try to reverse the damage, I can’t use anything perfumed. Thank you.

I’ve used M&S Formula Restore day and night creams and serum for years. They also do an eye cream. All cruelty free and very reasonably priced. I buy online as I’m not near an M&S. I’ve also tried Look Fabulous Forever which again is cruelty free. Very nice but a lot more expensive. Not sure I’m Worth It as the ad says. I like to think my skin’s good for my age but perhaps I need an eye test!

Ailidh have a look at NEOM and Emma Harding (both available on line and in bigger M & S Stores)

Have you got the bunny free app? you put in the name of the cosmetic company and it will tell you if it has been testing on animals.

I'm on the hunt for both face cream and eye concealer. Well, concealer for the the under eye bags.

It has to be cruelty-free - can't thole the thought of putting something on my face that was previously put in some poor animal's eyes.

All my life life I've looked younger than I am. Probably still do, a bit, but feel very haggard round the eyes.

I've recently lost a lot of weight - on purpose, healthily, not too fast - and while I'm enjoying my little, elfin chin, my eyes look like I've been up for 48 hours straight.

People are begging me not to lose any more weight, and that I've gone too far (although I wear size 10 (Sainsbury's) knickers and size 12 (Bon Marché) jeans, a fitted size 16 jacket still doesn't, and on 5'2", that's Not too skinny). I think it's the gaunt eye sockets and slightly faded skin that are doing it.

Cruelty-free skin-plumping products sought. ?

I use Olay double action moisturiser. I’ve used clarins for most of my adult life but needed to go to something cheaper. Genetics play an important part in how your skin is, that and keep hydrated. I drink about three litres of water per day.

I need something that will tighten and lift. A lot of lifting is required.

I use Aveeno, I have very sensitive skin, it’s easily absorbed so my skin looks natural.

I love clarins especially the flash balm but Aldi do an affordable alternative range.

The Tropic range i have seen transforming someones skin from dull to fresh and glowing.

Le Roche Posay or as good and cheaper CeraVe , brilliant stuff!

annodomini Fri 13-Aug-21 20:00:45

I'm with welllbeck. Aldi's Caviare day cream is as good a moisturiser as I have found anywhere, at a fraction of the price. As a special buy recently they had an own-brand bb cream which I also bought. The pale variety is just right for me, but I suspect I'll never see it again! Good thing I bought two.

aldi and lidl do some good ones.
that's where i get them.
also superdrug.

CeraVe gets my vote

I keep getting ads for that. Reasonable price, too. I think I’ll try that one first.

My DD was practising doing makeovers on someone else's face. She bought CeraVe for me afterwards, as I had 'a chin like sandpaper'? Daughters, eh?
I don't have a chin like sandpaper any more.

I like the l'Oreal Anti-Ageing Rosy Glow stuff, but mix it with a little plain white cream (any good one on offer) as I find it makes me a bit too rosy. I've dry skin so usually have a facial oil on the go as well (Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is a good one), but at the moment I'm trying out a Holland & Barrett brightening Vitamin C serum with Hyaluronic Acid instead. The reviews promise great things, but it's too early to tell yet.

I've had a mini pot of the l'Occitane Immortelle Divine cream from a M & S Advent Calendar. I thought it was fabulous, but it's beyond my skincare budget. I might start dropping big hints for my birthday. smile

Another fan of Nivea Q10 here. I also use the gradual tanning one.

Sharon I think you will find Joan has had an awful lot of work done! grin

sharon103 Fri 13-Aug-21 14:43:48

I've only ever used Nivea Creme since my teenage years. The blue pot one.
Apparently Joan Collins uses it. If it's good enough for Joan, it's good enough for me.
It's a pity I don't have her face though.

I have a number of skin allergies. I use skin creams from a company called Pure Nuff Stuff www.purenuffstuff.co.uk/ .
It is only available online and is one of the very few of even the sensitive skin products that do not irritate my skin.

Elleee Fri 13-Aug-21 14:26:41

Liz Earle Superskin moisturiser works for me
Also if I am going anywhere, Tropic Facelift mask. This was first bought for me as a gift. It actually is the only mask I've ever used that works

Callistemon Fri 13-Aug-21 14:17:38

Yes, I usually like Clarins too.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 13-Aug-21 13:16:48

I use Clarins for sensitive skin. It seems to suit my skin.

Callistemon Fri 13-Aug-21 13:11:48

I did try some Clarins stuff that was supposed to give a glow - you added a couple of drops to normal face cream, I used it once but it's sat in the cupboard ever since. The effect was more yellowy than rosy.

I have been using L’occitane Divine cream and I can tell the difference. It isn’t cheap but so worth it
However, Grandmadinosaur your post reminded me that I had a small trial pot of the L'Occitane cream and it was lovely.

rosie1959 Fri 13-Aug-21 13:11:18

I find that unless I use a facial scrub every week or so no amount of creams can revive my skin I usually do it after washing my hair and then use a face mask
I can no longer use foundation as it is too heavy tend to prefer a tinted moisturiser
A good primer is also necessary to give an even finish
Most days no facial makeup at all but Clarins flash balm is amazing can bring life back and seems to even out the skin

MayBee70 Fri 13-Aug-21 13:10:43

I’ll check that out. I like Clinique. I need to buy some eye make up remover and they seem to be the only ones that make a cream one. Most are liquid and although they all say they’re suitable for sensitive skin that still make my eyes sore. I used to buy Simple eye make up remover cream but they now only do a liquid.

dragonfly46 Fri 13-Aug-21 13:05:04

I use Clinique Repairwear with SPF 30. I am very pleased with it and been using it for years. I always manage to find it on offer somewhere online.
