Am I too old to show my cleavage?

For years I have been hoping that I'd lose enough weight to wear my favourite dress. I bought it originally for my 70th birthday. Now past 80, I tried it on today and it fits perfectly. However, it does have rather a low neckline. Though I say it myself, I still have a good, unwrinkled cleavage, but at my age, will I look odd if I wear it? Or should I just put the dress on Ebay and buy one more befitting my age?

Never tool old! Wear it and own it. As long as you feel good in it....no one else's opinion should matter

How many of us see our cleavage when we’re pising
I knew what you meant but it was funny ?

Pising your cleavage??
Interesting ?

If it looks good and you like it, then wear it. To be honest, I sometimes think we worry too much about what others might be thinking of the clothes we choose to wear, when in reality, they are too busy preoccupied with their own worries or concerns to be bothered about what someone else has on. So go ahead and wear your lovely dress ?.

Have you had honest opinions on your cleavage? What you consider to be good may not be viewed they same by others. When pising my cleavage looks great. However if I squeeze my arms against by chest it is not the same. Give it a test from different views unless you are guaranteed to stay bolt upright everytime you wear the dress. But, the decision is all down to you and no-one can dictate otherwise.

OP Age is just a number but people are obsessed by it. Don't let it define you. Some years ago, I read that the space between your breasts is a good indicator of age (although everyone's different). I mentioned it to my M-i-L (probably late 70s at the time) and her instant response was, "You could drive a bus between mine!" Had to laugh ???

As long as ya not wrinkly go for it. Wear a good bra to push you into place to show cleavage....

Widnesbabcia Mon 16-Aug-21 15:17:58

Wear it and have a fantastic time

Age is just a number.

Go for it annodomini …if anyone makes disparaging remarks it’s just jealousy.

And I bet you get loads of compliments.

You dress for yourself, how it makes you feel.

There will be people that criticizes what you do.

Live for you, not others

Aepgirl Mon 16-Aug-21 14:33:19

If your cleavage is good, go for it. Age means nothing.

I am sure there are plenty of elderly gentlemen, and I hope some younger ones too, who will appreciate a glimpse of your cleavage

Yesterday, I commented on another thread that Dawn French knows how to dress, in that she always makes sure that her beautiful face and perfect hair draw the eye.
Likewise, Ms Mirren is fully aware of her own best features!

Take your granddaughters advice Anno and I bet they say you look good.
To be fair, I don’t think I have ever noticed a cleavage and thought the person looked to old to show it.
If you look good, wear it!

Alioop Mon 16-Aug-21 14:18:07

You go girl. I wish I had a cleavage to show off, mother nature only gave me the big bum grin

DanniRae Mon 16-Aug-21 14:05:15

Don't wear the dress if you are going to feel self conscious all evening - and I fear this is the case because you had to come on here and ask. If I have got this wrong then wear it with pride smile

Noreen3 Mon 16-Aug-21 13:58:00

If you like it,you should wear it.I think we should wear what we feel happy in,you should be proud that it fits now.

Gloria Hunniford looks lovely at 81,she's found her own style, her clothes suit her.

Nanniejude Mon 16-Aug-21 13:53:21

Wear it!

Glenco Mon 16-Aug-21 13:51:28

Anno, if you're feeling a little less than confident in your lovely dress, could you close the neckline a little bit with a pretty brooch or hidden pin?

nipsmum Mon 16-Aug-21 13:48:18

I'm jealous. I'm also 80 but have never had a cleavage in my life that was worth showing off. Go for it. If you've got it flaunt it.

Blackcat3 Mon 16-Aug-21 13:47:26

If you have to ask …..yes!

Lin663 Mon 16-Aug-21 13:45:44

Go for it…if you like how you look in it that’s all that matters!

Quaver22 Mon 16-Aug-21 13:44:22

Go for it Anno and enjoy wearing your favourite dress!
My dear Mum was 85 when we were shopping for her. She saw a purple long sleeved dress and exclaimed”Oh no, that is far too old for me!”

mrsgreenfingers56 Mon 16-Aug-21 13:38:01

Oh please do wear it. I would love to be able to do that but with a mastectomy out of the question. So you wear it and enjoy it. My legs are still good though and I do wear shorter skirts sometimes to make up for lack up top.

Daisend1 Mon 16-Aug-21 13:37:16

Is anyone likely to ask you your age ? If you've a cleavage, mine disappeared years ago, then show it.
