Changing over to Autumn/Winter clothes

I never buy anything I don’t need. I have just the basic necessities, and just one scarf and one pair of earrings. I totally ignore Masai sales. I certainly won’t buy anything during my trip to Edinburgh today.

I must get a grip. What I have done is to buy a couple of outfits - say trousers and sweater per season. But I always buy classic really good quality stuff and they last for ever. Everywhere is stuffed. So I’m beginning by charity shopping everything that I haven’t worn this spring/summer as I gradually put everything away into storage boxes or spare wardrobes. I shall do the same with my autumn/winter stuff.

It is getting beyond ridiculous.

My problems begin when I look at a couple of dresses that I love but which having a structured waist are too small. They need giving away, but I looooove them.

First world problems! I feel ashamed.

Whitewave I’m in exactly the same situation.
I never ‘go off’ anything, but can’t stop buying new things.
It’s made worse by the fact that my house is stupidly small.
I’ve just got too much of everything (it is shameful, isn’t it? )

As I much prefer summer clothes I have a limited supply of winter ones
Not keen on jumpers prefer a cardigan I can slip off
Since the children left home have loads of space so no need unpack winter stuff just move it around in the wardrobe Although I put shorts and vest tops on top shelves to make room for long sleeved t.shirts
Must make a trip to Primark only go there for thick tights they seem to fit the best

It is difficult, but I’m trying this autumn /winter to go through every cupboard, drawer,shelf etc and throw/give away everything not used etc. Yesterday I bagged up all my childhood books ready for the charity shop. It took a lot of common sense tbh as I have clung onto them for 70 years, but I know that they will be charitied by my children so I may as well save them the job.

Ah Hotter! I have been looking to buy some more boots and forgot about looking on the Hotter website. I'm off to investigate I hope the returns process is easy? I am sick to the back teeth of returning stuff to a certain high street store because they have made it so difficult.

I love Hotter. They’ve got a new style ankle boot, called ‘Murmur’ I think. They will be my new ‘house boots’.
Don’t pay full price Danni, like Boden, they’ve got some sort of sale on pretty much most of the time.

Debenhams has 25% off certain hotter styles. As my dog walking boots are over £100 that is a good reduction. I buy new every year because they are worn daily.
Please don't laugh, but I also buy jumpers with dogs on, often Joules, so I need to see which breeds are in favour in this year's collection.
Plus a few pairs of jeans and maybe a new cashmere crew neck.

I buy quite a lot of foot ware from Moshulu I have found them to be of a good quality and a good fit even if your feet are a little wider

I see elsewhere you are off to Edinburgh - George Street had some nice shops last time I was there and some of the little streets beyond Charlotte Square.
But I didn’t tell you that!

Since we moved we've instigated a "nothing in the loft" rule. I've reduced my clothes to stuff I actually wear. Thick winter coat and evening dress are all that's in the spare room wardrobe. My shorts will be going in there soon.
I layer up summer clothes with jumpers, tights and boots for autumn to get good wear out of them.
I volunteer in a boutique charity shop and am getting loads of outfit ideas from there.

Just sorting my winter clothes now. I usually wear cords and jumpers or tunics and leggings. I have 5 Seasalt fine cord tunics only one of which I paid full price for. The others came from eBay and were perfect. I do have problems buying winter shoes though as I like them chunky. And this weeks extravagance is a pair of whale cord trousers from Toast.

I'm just in the process of sorting my winter tops & pants and hanging them all together in the spare wardrobe ready for wearing when it gets colder.
I like to wear my t-shirts and leggings as long as possible and if it gets chilly will throw on a hoody or fleece.
So many boots I've lost count all mainly flats which can be worn with jeans or jeggings cosy slipper boots for during the daytime at home in various colours.

I'm another fan of Mosulu. The boots are lovely soft leather and reasonably priced. 20% off at the moment.
Snag tights are brilliant, last ages, colours are wonderful.
All sizes catered for. I am 5ft 9" and size 18 and could never find tights that fitted properly until l found Snag in lockdown.

We all have too many clothes here! Dh and I are both people who keep things and wear then to death, but that doesn't stop me buying wanting new things as well!!

I'm not a lover of jeans, preferring leisure trousers or leggings. I work full time so tend to wear more layers during the week and keep the warmer clothes for the weekend. I do love coats and boots though.

i don't have summer and winter clothes!
i buy my tops from asda as i found a style which is easy-wearing and i have quite a lot of these. teamed with black trousers that does me all year round. if i'm cold in the winter i add a cardigan to the top and trousers.
i have several really lovely winter coats some dating back over 20 years and ankle boots for the winter (toe post sandals if it's not too cold or wet!).

I make rag rugs with all my old t-shirts (plus the rest of the family's and friends cast offs). Can't find a use for old sweaters though, the ones that aren't good enough for the charity shops. Anyone got any ideas?

Anyone like me I can’t abide wearing trousers in the spring and summer months I have a couple of pairs of ‘summer trousers’
but have only worn them a couple of times
My trousers stay at the back of the wardrobe until at least mid October

Summer clothes for me!
However I find that in the Winter it is worth it to buy warm cardigans, coats and boots. Oh and socks, my feet get cold so thermal socks bought last year were worth every penny!
I also go for bright colours to cheer myself up on a cold dark day!

Ilove sprimg and summer clothes have far to many T shirts half i dont wear I loathe winter clothes as living in Sweden the winters are so long and cold. I just long to be able to go out through the door without having to pile on layers for months on end,November until March.
