Wow. Just seen the new Jaeger range on the M&S website. Lovely classic clothes. More expensive than M&S but Jaeger was always wonderful quality and style. Wish I could justify buying a few of their outfits.

Thanks. I like Jaeger, it always looks smart and elegant, not fussy or too colourful.

eazybee Fri 08-Oct-21 12:29:26

Yes. Beautiful clothes.
Why such an unattractive model?

Alegrias1 Fri 08-Oct-21 12:35:37

There's always one, isn't there?

The clothes are lovely Aveline, thanks for sharing that.

Jaxjacky Fri 08-Oct-21 13:24:01

I can see 5 models easzybee which particular one upsets your aesthetic taste?

I love the shift dresses Aveline but have nowhere to wear one even if I could afford it.?

eazybee Fri 08-Oct-21 13:26:47

The one wearing the coats; I didn't look at anything else.
Why do she have to scowl?

DiscoGran Fri 08-Oct-21 13:44:41

Gorgeous coats on there, but at £300+ a bit more than I want to pay. I agree, the models are not great, not the age range or body shape of Jaegers target market I wouldn't have thought. I'd like to see a woman of around age 40-60 and a size 14 in those clothes. Never going to happen though.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 08-Oct-21 14:01:37

Oh, what lovely clothes. If only I had a bottomless purse (and somewhere to go to wear them all)! The black model looks very surly. A smile would make such a difference.

Scowling bean poles come in many colours - there's hardly a smile from any of the models.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 08-Oct-21 14:27:38

Just had a quick look, lovely stylish clothes, might have to do some finger shopping
???

The models are instructed how to compose their faces by the client and photographer to suit the shoot it’s not their fault if they are not smiling.

That’s true, and the people taking the photoshoots....
‘Give me angry, darlin’ and ‘that’s it, that’s it! Keep that smug look goin’’ etc

lemongrove Fri 08-Oct-21 14:35:14

Thanks for the tip Aveline I shall have a look.????

Jaeger certainly have the x factor. I've many smart pairs of trousers but regularly my J (ancient) ones are singled out for a complimentary remark by different people. I can't spot any difference. It must surely be the cut.

I'll not see 60 again but I'd like to see size 14 again, DiscoGran! I am trying grin

I always think of Jaeger as suiting women of 60+, perhaps because DH's Aunt always wore Jaeger.

And can't imagine my DD buying anything from that range.

Callistemon Fri 08-Oct-21 14:43:12

The model does look grumpy eazybee grin

"Why do I have to wear this stuff?"
"Because you're getting paid"

lemongrove Fri 08-Oct-21 14:43:37

I’ll not see 70 again let alone 60 and size14 was way back in the misty past.?

Callistemon Fri 08-Oct-21 14:51:04

Thank you, Aveline
I wish there were more trousers. Plain, everyday well-cut trousers.

M&S trousers range is dire at the moment.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 08-Oct-21 14:51:19

I have managed to eat myself into a size 12 over the lockdowns, so need to walk quicker and exercise harder. I am only 64 (a springy chicken according to one GC) love fashion and have a strong yearning for the biker jacket.

Have you looked at Hobbs or Boden their websites have very good information regarding sizing?

Scones Fri 08-Oct-21 14:55:36

Perhaps these beautiful young women are looking glum as they'd rather be wearing cutting-edge high fashion, not tailored classics aimed us ladies of Gransnet.

Blossoming Fri 08-Oct-21 14:56:01

M&S appear to have taken on some of the brands that had outlets In Debenhams. They have Craghoppers and Nobody’s Child as well as Jaeger and Ghost.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 08-Oct-21 14:58:52

I used to buy jaeger before it went into liquidation and bought out by Edinburgh Mills. Then it went badly down hill, so I stopped buying it.

Must have a look.

Thanks GrannyGravy

I bought some tops from Land's End this year and the quality and fit seems good too.

It didn't work for me!
Oh, I meant trying to get back down to a 12 (or even 14!)

Whitewavemark2 Fri 08-Oct-21 15:15:44

Some of it is traditionally classic. If the quality is still as good - they always specialised in natural, fabrics then they will last a lifetime so paying a few hundred for a good winters cost is worth the expense I think.

I have 2 or 3 coats and they are like new and always look good.

The original jaeger were always a size larger.
