M&S ‘cosy’ high-waisted jeggings

It’s not often I rave about anything from M&S, but I bought some of these recently and am wearing them for the first time today. Properly high-waisted, and with a slightly fleecy lining, so warmer than average, and exceedingly comfortable! These are dark green and look v nice, but I shall be treating myself to another pair in a different colour very soon.

I have the navy pair witzend, yes they are well comfy, love them. Funnily enough am collecting a black pair later from click and collect……

I love M & S high waisted. Sometimes with their ordinary jeggings I have unpicked the few stitches on the inside that hold the waist bit back. This releases it and when unfolded gives a tidy extra couple of inches length making them even more comfortable.

I have similar from Aldi (probably half the price of M and S ) but they are warmmmmm I had the same ones last year so now have two pairs and their thermal tops are good too

Of course, when I went to order another pair in a different colour, they were nearly all out of stock (except sizes 6 and 8) and my size showed up as ‘only one in stock’, so I nabbed it - or thought I had, only for it to come up with ‘out of stock’ when I tried to pay.
This happened twice!

And then they had the nerve to send me an email saying there was something forgotten in my basket! ?

M&S really are hopeless sometimes. Barely the middle of October, and already they’ve run out of what is clearly a very good, cold-weather item.
Yet racks and racks of truly horrible other things in the shop ( I did go and hunt, to no avail).

Witzend
In fairness to M&S ? you leggings are probably sitting in Felixstowe port waiting for a HGV driver to pick them up.

Luckygirl Fri 15-Oct-21 09:20:50

Do they come true to size?

Witzend Fri 15-Oct-21 09:31:39

Yes, I dare say, MerylStreep, but in M&S it’s almost a given that they won’t have one of the very few things I want, in my size/colour, when there are literally thousands of things I wouldn’t want as a gift on the rails!

I will admit though, that there was one recent exception - not long ago I went mad with my knicker drawer, threw out all the aeons-old ones, and replaced with a dozen lovely new 3 for 2 pairs from M&S.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 15-Oct-21 09:34:04

Well, I’ve just ordered a pair of black, regular, size 16 high waisted cosy jeggings! I am so easily tempted.

Patsy70 Fri 15-Oct-21 09:40:14

Thank you, Witzend. I’m venturing to M&S today, so will look out for these cosy jeggings. I ordered knickers on line yesterday, as I can never find what I need in store. ?

Witzend Fri 15-Oct-21 09:40:53

Hope you’ll be pleased, Ladyleftfieldlover.
They’re one of the very few things where ‘high waisted’ really is high enough - I’m long-bodied. The long ones were perfect for me.

Nanachoochoo Fri 15-Oct-21 11:43:13

Not sure about "ankle grazers". I like to tuck them into my boots, or have them comfortably meet my trainers without any exposed flesh. Should I order long instead of regular?

Kpnuts Fri 15-Oct-21 11:47:47

Are these the £19.99 ones?
Thanks.

Maya1 Fri 15-Oct-21 11:52:30

I've worn these for years. They are really comfortable
and are true to size. They wash well too.
I'm 5ft 9 " and always get the long length.
The charcoal grey are really nice as well as the navy.

Witzend Fri 15-Oct-21 12:58:31

IIRC they were £19.50, Kpnuts.
And not ankle grazers, in case anyone’s wondering - I’d never want those.

4allweknow Fri 15-Oct-21 14:45:54

I can't find £19.50 high waisted jeggings that come in dark green. There is a dark green leggings at £19.50. Is the pair you have mentioned a legging or jeggings. Nit trying to be pedantic, just so confusing trying to find the item.

Nanachoochoo Fri 15-Oct-21 14:46:01

Cosy High Waisted Jeggings
Product code: T578887 £19.50 - definitely described as ankle grazers

Greciangirl Fri 15-Oct-21 15:06:15

I like M&S leggings a lot. But I find that the waistbands are really much too wide and dig into my tummy making me feel somewhat uncomfortable. They all seem to have been designed like this now.
I prefer a thinner waistband. I do love the leggings but can’t wear them like that.
Does anyone else have a problem with the elastic waistbands?
Or maybe I’ve just got a large tummy.

PinkCosmos Fri 15-Oct-21 15:32:36

Greciangirl I know what you mean. I prefer a narrow waistband. the wide ones just fold over at the front on me.

I wear them when I am working from home and mostly sitting down, maybe that is why it happens.

NainCC Fri 15-Oct-21 16:39:42

And what are we wearing on the top half, going well with these?

NotTooOld Fri 15-Oct-21 17:49:21

Luckygirl

Do they come true to size?

I find MnS jegging are pretty much to size, Luckygirl. Can't say the same for some of their other stuff, of course!

NotTooOld Fri 15-Oct-21 17:52:24

Agree about the wide waist bands on both jeggings and leggings at MnS. I prefer a narrower waistband. White Stuff come with a narrow waistband and are very nice. More expensive than MnS, of course.

NotTooOld Fri 15-Oct-21 17:53:00

Should have said White Stuff jeggings come with a narrow waistband.....

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 15-Oct-21 18:49:03

NainCC

And what are we wearing on the top half, going well with these?

I have an assortment of tunic type tops. As we speak I am wearing a charcoal and pale yellow patterned White Stuff top. I have a few Kin tunics from John Lewis and some from Sea Salt.

Peasblossom Fri 15-Oct-21 19:53:18

Too short (sigh)

As are White Stuff, Joules, Fat Face. Well just about everybodies really.?
