I bought new wellies recently and within a few weeks they had a hole in the leg. Bought another pair at twice the price and they were leaking within a month. More new ones today and some there cost hundreds. Not fashion items but for farmers etc.
Wellies used to last forever.

I have a 45 year old pair of blue wellies, bought from an army surplus store for around £5. Used daily for years on farms and no holes in them at all.

Blossoming, I have a pair over 40 years old too. They are red ones bought in Barnard Castle and they are still fully waterproof.

Anyone who would wear those particular wellies would not be in the mud to begin with.
