I have a 45 year old pair of blue wellies, bought from an army surplus store for around £5. Used daily for years on farms and no holes in them at all.

I bought new wellies recently and within a few weeks they had a hole in the leg. Bought another pair at twice the price and they were leaking within a month. More new ones today and some there cost hundreds. Not fashion items but for farmers etc.
Wellies used to last forever.
