Getting my body ready for Spring!

Well something along those lines grin

Yesterday I had a pedicure and eyebrow wax and could do with a haircut and me roots doing, but that will have to wait until next week.

I've been slathering on body lotion - not quite reached peach-like loveliness yet but working on it smile

Is any one else raising their beauty bar?

Soroptimum - My eyebrows have thinned and have lots of grey in them, would microblading be ok?

Have you tried dyeing them? I have quite a lot of grey in my eyebrows and I dye them using regular hair dye (Nice and Easy Number 6) which makes them quite a dark brown.

Pick a colour that just has a number. A hairdresser said the number that have letters mean: G - gold tones, R - red tones, N - Neutral tones. If you use a red tone or gold tone it can make the grey hairs too red/orange.

I buy the normal box of hair dye and mix about half a teaspoon of the activator and half a teaspoon of the colour and put it on my eyebrows using an old mascara brush.

I leave it for the time it says. It dyes all of the grey and seems to catch the finer hairs which can be lighter. My eyebrows seem to look thicker. They frame my eyes better and make me look less insipid.

It is much easier than using pencil etc. but you need to have actual eyebrows, obviously. I would say it lasts for about a month.

I would give it a try before you commit to microblading.

Last Saturday I had the first part of my micro blading on my eyebrows, go back in a month to have it finished off…

I know two people who've had micro-blading - it's very effective and looks great.

I agree, this is the second time I’ve had it done, the last time was four years ago but it does hurt, it’s strange it’s not painful but it hurts

Absolutely ? Mine cost £245 but I’m not sure about other parts of the country, I am in North Devon District

Thank you Riverwalk now to find someone who is recommended locally.

Witzend

Apart from the massage, that’s more or less what I do at home, Riverwalk.

Me too. I do occasionally pay to have a pedicure if I've got lots of hard skin and I'm too lazy to deal with it. But generally I do my own manicure and pedicare once a week. Only takes half an hour, usually after I've had a nice bath and toenails are soft.

My feet are so hideous I would never traumatise any sort of pedicurist with them!!..?‍♀️?

I started preparing my body for spring way back early December. I decided I needed to lose 20lbs. Only 26lbs left to go.

Sounds familiar to me too!
Honestly it must be the scales playing up mustn’t it ( ever hopeful!)?
I am booking a beauty treatment every 4 to 6 weeks, I need pampering and I jolly well deserve it! There’s a wonderful beautician near me, very reasonable prices and she does the most incredible head and shoulders massage, blissful.
Go and treat yourselves ?

Go and treat yourselves

Thanks but it's hard to think of anything more hideous ? ?

I've had a number of different massages over the years, and facial treatments, and all I can think while it's going on is 'God! how much longer before I can leave!' Don't like hairdressers either, come to that. Don't mind pedicures, but then all I can think is how sorry I am for the person doing my feet.

Coastpath I have an NHS Pre-op number and have completed a pre-op questionnaire for a bunion operation but still not expecting I will be invited to have it done this year !

TillyTrotter Thu 17-Feb-22 14:26:18

My limbs are like a lizard’s. I will go and do a stock check of body butters and heavy duty moisturising creams. You are all shaming me into it ?

TillyTrotter Thu 17-Feb-22 14:28:29

Shinamae I like the shape of your new brows - they are not thick like some I’ve seen - and are a very good shape to suit (what I can see of) your face. ?

I have started yet another diet to get my body ready for Spring, trouble is my neighbour is an excellent baker and keeps inviting me in for coffee and cake (well it would be rude to refuse!)

I had to see an orthopaedic surgeon the other week and it wasn't until I was in the cubicle that I realised just how hairy my legs are blush

I haven’t shaved mine for literally years. My daughter is horrified if I stay at hers and I’m in my dressing gown, to be honest they’re not that bad really but it’s like I said to her who sees my legs apart from me? I don’t like my legs anyway so don’t wear shorts or skirts or dresses so they’re always hidden! And with hideous feet as well I never wear sandals! ?‍♀️?‍♀️

Hi I've got really really crepey looking skin on my legs, the skin isn't dry so moisturiser doesn't seem to be helping - any suggestions welcomed
Thank you

I put fake tan on my legs for a bit of colour and disguise the veins. That’s it really my routine a dash of lipstick to brighten me up. I’m reaching 66 I look ok still got a trim figure not much else I can do.
