I decided to take drastic action to get my feet sandal ready.
Invested in a foot mask that apparently makes your feet shed all the hard skin.
5 days ago I bathed, put on the gloopy bootees and sat for an hour whilst the potion did it’s stuff.
Today I’m shedding skin like you wouldn’t believe!
It’s wonderful, I would post a pic but it’s not for the feint hearted?.
I would thoroughly recommend these masks.

I have packets of these languishing in a cupboard bought by DD in a pampering pack and never dared give then a try. I certainly will now but not when DH is around I can hear the sarcastic comment already.

A. T I C idea. A bit of self indulgent luxury would be a trip to Iceland and an afternoon in the Blue Lagoon. The volcanic gravel will abrade your feet leaving them feeling great. The skin care is also an added bonus.

I feel there's going to be a sudden surge in the sale of foot masks smile
I'm definitely get some.

I'm not diabetic but are these safe for diabetics to use?

Friends tell me you shed dead skin for days and days - not convenient for me, will stick to pedicures.

Only if you have a lot of dead skin Mamma7, in which case you probably do need to use it. After the first time it’s not so bad I found.
My only word of caution is that it does leave your feet delicate (not sore, but like a baby’s feet). I went on a walking holiday just after I had done mine, and I did get a few blisters, which served me right.

Be careful, if you’re shedding skin so fast it leaves them open to infection.

I used these once years ago but had forgotten all about them. I remember having to shake dead skin out of my socks for a few days once they started peeling. I never pulled at the peeling skin thinking that could leave sore spots? They certainly looked heaps better! Must order some and get done before sandal weather arrives. No way can feet be exposed that are mid treatment grin

Please do not use anything like this if you are diabetic, have any form of circulatory problems, are fairly old with fragile skin, or if you have had cellulitis.

Please also be wary of corn plasters or products with salicylic acid in, also foot creams with more than 5-10% urea. Do not use cracked heel cream for longer than a few days. These 2 products can cause the skin to break down and allow infection to take hold.

If you have athlete’s foot (usually starts between toes 4-5, open skin red and sore) ask the pharmacist, or GP for treatment asap - the fungus can travel into the nails which can take a vv long time to treat.

A daily application of any moisturiser on the feet is best - but be careful not to stand on flat slippy surfaces straight afterwards (falls). Do not apply moisturiser between the toes (fungus). If your legs have got too long for you to reach your feet a long handled wooden spoon could be used as an applicator (you may not want to use this to stir your soup afterwards.)

Look after those trotters you’re going to need them for a very long time!

Did one of these, product bought from boots range. Did a great job exfoliating (and shedding everywhere!) skin. But did not touch the horrid hard skin on heels. I need a farrier!

I've spent years toughening my feet up so I didn't blister and bleed when I wore sandals folk will just have to suffer my feet

Yes take care with products like this. There have been reports of serious problems following their use. I agree with Madsashell
