I am looking for trainers to wear with jeans and dresses. Preferably white. , not too chunky and not too expensive. Up to £80 for comfort, Any recommendations, have you bought any recently ?

Slightly over your budget at £85, but Vega trainers are trendy and comfortable. They look good with both jeans and dresses and aren’t too chunky. You might be able to get them for less with a signup newsletter discount from online retailers.
For cotton trainers I’d recommend superga.

I have has comfy trainers from Clarks for around that price.

Also, I have just indeed some from White Stuff but not worn them yet. Moshulu are also comfy shoes.

Another vote here for Vega, so comfy and not chunky.

I have a Fitflop pair that are really comfortable.

I'm a fan of Sketchers shoes. Having a tailor's bunion, I like them because they have enough give so as not to rub and irritate it. They have several white styles at about £80 - £85.

I don't like the white trainer trend. They make everybody look as if if they've come off a conveyer belt.
I'm hoping the trend dies down soon.
I love brightly coulered trainers. Or even off white or nude.
Not helpful. Sorry!

Thankyou all for your recommendations. I will look at them all , I am thinking Spring is coming , out with the dresses and trainers. ?

I’ve just bought Sketchers white trainers from Sports Direct. They had several types, some on special offer. I find Skechers really comfortable and hard-wearing.

Yep.. Good old Sketchers, I have a pair in Dayglow Pink.
Also I have Superga but I found they are not as comfy.
My new favourites are pair of White "Skippers" from Albirds they are fabulous and you can put them in the Washing machine.

I’ve just bought a white pair of Converse. They’re called Dainty Ox and the soles aren’t too chunky. They’re either leather or a synthetic equivalent. I’m really happy with them. You can buy on line but I believe they’re sold in Office and similar shoe shops.

I will let you know if I buy any white trainers.

As soon as I do they will go out of fashion - be warned ?

I have a look at TKMaxx. They have lots of brand name trainers at seriously reduced prices. I bought a pair of Ecco for a third of the rrp. Very comfortable but not white. Worth a look to see if other brands in white.

Fitflop's Rally trainers in black, denim blue or white. Wonderful for everyday running about. They sell for about £100 but you can get 20% off with a voucher code.. They are slip-on, wide fitting and utterly comfortable

It's many years since I wore tennis shoes (aka white trainers) and it was a hassle to keep them white. I have a light grey pair of Hotter's trainer-style shoes which are divinely comfortable - and, yes, accommodate a bunion. I seem to remember getting them at a reduced price and am still looking for a similar pair, maybe even in white.

I bought my last pair of white trainers from Next they are laceless so slip on easily, they come in half sizes and wide fitting if needed, they where £45.oo full price but I was lucky to get them half price in their sale,so comfortable.

PS I've round my shoes on the Hotter web site. The model is called 'Chase' and is available in white. I'm so tempted.

This is why I don't want to get anything to expensive.

Snowberry.Z I don’t care if they are in or out of fashion. I like them. I like the look with dresses or jeans. Each to their own I say

My white Nike Air trainers are around 15 years old. They are extremely comfortable and have worn really well, but I’m not sure what the price is now.

Lucca Sun 06-Mar-22 13:39:47

Ecco and Superga

Forget Nike, I just checked the web store and adults sizes are over £100! I have child size feet so would only cost me £65.
