Trends you'll be glad to see the back of and won't miss one bit.

Boxy tops with no shape.
Oversized clothes. I work hard to try and keep my waist. No ways am I hiding it in shapeless boxy tops.
Ditto oversized clothing.
High-waisted trousers. I prefer mid rise.

Bit of a contentious one but I'm sick of seeing white trainers etc everywhere. I went for a meal the other day and every woman seemed to be wearing a dress with white trainers.
So uninspiring and if your feet are larger than a size 5, white makes them look huge

What are yours?

Wokery.

I had my first email recently from “Sally Smith she/her “

Oh forgot.
Trainers are so hot on. Especially those leather look ones.
If its a hot sunny day, what's the point of wearing a lovely cool floaty dress only to encase your feet in white clodhoppery trainers. My feet would get hot.
Bring back sandals or ballet flats or anything!grin

I must be honest and admit to the fact I ignore most trends and always have done, unless, I really like something AND it suits me - both my body shape and lifestyle and I do think the latter is the thing that can go wrong!

Yes to this!
Off to room 101 with it.

Clothes wirh ridiculous puffy voluminous sleeves. There are so many of them around.
What's that all about?confused

Sorry, everything every one hates I love.

As someone who has never had a waist, my hips start where my ribs stop, I love boxy tops, waisted ones make me look huge even though I am not over weight. I have just bought a long flowing dress for DDs graduation, the waist is almost at empire line height and the skirt flows from that, the elbow length sleeves are full but not gathered

For DDs graduation I will wear it with trainers, although not my white ones, and for a cruise later this summer I will wear it with gold strappy shoes with a 2-3 inch heel.

Horses for courses.

Use of the term woke.

I went to a posh silver wedding do last summer and wore smart sandals with my dress. Looking around, I spotted most young women were wearing trainers with theirs.

How I envied them at the end of the day when the backs of my legs were killing me after a lot of standing around chatting.

People misunderstanding / misusing the term ‘Room 101’

I do not follow fashion and cannot remember the last time I was out of jeans - well actually jeggings.

But I hate the "slug eyebrows" and the layers of make-up on young women; and as for tattoos ...........

Poppyred Tue 29-Mar-22 11:26:58

Dresses that look like curtains with the awful white trainers.
Bushy eyebrows.
Trout pout lips.

JaneJudge Tue 29-Mar-22 11:29:30

this miserable weather

Luckygirl3 Tue 29-Mar-22 11:33:15

Oh yes and lip fillers - gawd help us.

It’s going to be really cold tomorrow.
We could have snow here!

JaneJudge Tue 29-Mar-22 11:43:42

a cashier told me it was going to snow, maybe i looked too summery smile

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 29-Mar-22 12:22:45

Scary eyebrows ?

eazybee Tue 29-Mar-22 12:36:27

Wide-legged loose trousers seem to be returning, and they only suit tall, very slim women.

AGAA4 Tue 29-Mar-22 12:44:43

Dreary colours. I like pastel shades but not 'in' these days.

I'm the same. I like to keep an eye on fashion trends but if they don't flatter and aren't comfortable then I don't buy.
It's interesting seeing the bell-bottom jeans coming back recently, but I can't see me buying them this time round!

Scribbles Tue 29-Mar-22 14:48:51

Ripped jeans
Wide legged trousers
High waisted trousers
Invented pronouns: just pick the one you dislike least from he/she/it
Being told to "stay safe".

Haven’t you done threads on white trainers and “baggy” clothes already ?

And you personally might like mid rise trousers but I don’t,

snowberryZ Tue 29-Mar-22 14:56:43

Yes to jeans with rips and holes in them.
I thought I'd found the perfect pair the other day. They were a beautiful shade, not too light, not too dark. They weren't too high waisted and they had my length. Just what I was looking for.
Took them off the rack to find they had great big frayed holes on both thighs.
An OK look if you're trying to ^get down with the kids'
