Anyone know where I can get a good bra for keeping my boobs out front and not in my armpits?
I don't really like underwire bras but will try one if it's going to work.

Sounds as if you are buying the wrong size.

That made me smile I have an acquaintance same age as me who has refused to wear a bra for years she now has two long spaniel ears laying on her stomach !!

I have big armpit boobs and never wear underwired bras. Have a look at the JD Williams catalogues and Yours. They have a good range of strong sheep dog bras for big armpit boobs. They also tell you how to measure properly.

I was properly measured recently at a specialist bra/breast care shop and found I was wearing totally the wrong size. I had 38Bs and went home with 36DD's! Much more comfortable and no bulges, riding up or straps slipping off. I thought I had properly measured myself according to various websites, but obviously not! As for spaniels ears, I read somewhere if you go braless your muscles learn to hold up your boobs better than if they are always supported with a bra! I think personally its all to do with genes and you are either lucky or you aren't! grin

Go to a specialist store and get measured properly.

You may find you need to go up a cup size (or more) and down in the all-round measurement.

vampirequeen Tue 26-Jul-22 19:28:23

You got it.....sheep dog bras round them up and point them in the right direction lol

Blinko Tue 26-Jul-22 19:39:03

Sheep dog bras - brilliant! grin

Breasts don’t have muscles to hold them up , they have ligaments that can stretch if not supported , hence the spaniel ears down to your waist h

Harvest knickers ! All gathered in !

Another fan of going to a specialist shop and getting measured. My local shop were incredible. I was wearing totally the wrong size and had bra 'squelch' front back and sides along with a droop. She didn't even measure me, just took a look at me in my old bra, asked the size of it and handing me a bra. I could not believe the difference. I ohhhed and ahhhed so much that the lady in the next changing room said, 'Can I try on the bra that lady is trying please.' grin

She even showed me how to put it on properly i.e. lean forward and then when it's on 'lift' your bosoms up in the cup. I went in feeling a frump and came out feeling younger and slimmer.

I'd been afraid that the bra she chose for me would be much more expensive than my M&S usual, but it wasn't. I bought two bras and the matching pants. The bra is a Charnos Rosalind...but I guess everyone suits a different bra. It washes very well too.

GrannyRobin I have this issue and I’ve found that full cup bras with side support work well. One type I have is full cup ‘Cate’ by Elomi.

It stops the side boob popping into view and ruining a nice dress or outfit. Fantasies do some nice full cup bras too.

Good luck!

I thought of that, and just googled the lyrics! I can't wear underwired bras-they dig into my ribcage.

Why don't you go into your local M&S to have your bust measured? I went up four bra sizes & am amazed how good my bust looks now! I can't wear underwire bras either. Good luck

Check out the Boob or Bust website, loads of great advice on choosing a bra. After using their measuring method I was sceptical as the size was way different to the bras I was wearing but after trying bras in their recommended size I am convinced, total improvement in fit and support.

M&S are notorious for mis measuring for bras, they had me in a 34DD for years - turns out I'm a 30G! Who knew such a size existed... I was completely transformed. No more falling out the front when I bent over and no constant hitching my bra down at the back and straps slipping off. I looked younger and slimmer too. Go to an independent bra shop or Bravissimo if you can find one. Check out the Boob or Bust website. It sounds like you need to go up at least a couple of cup sizes and possibly down a back size or two. It requires a real leap of faith to change your bra size when you believe you've always been 'X' size. The style of bra is also critical as well as the make. I can only wear full cup and not a plunge due to boob shape. A good bra can be expensive, but well worth it for the comfort and fit.

Go to a John Lewis store and ask for best fitter. I found Fantasie to work for me

One point that doesn't seem to have been mentioned is that bra sizes can vary quite considerably from one brand to another. So getting measured or measuring yourself properly to find your "correct" size won't always be the magic solution. If I shop online, I invariably end up with something that doesn't fit so I have to send it back or put up with it. If I shop in a store and choose a pretty style, I then have to fumble through the rack only to find that it's not available in my size. Usually I have to try at least half a dozen bras in the hope of finding something that fits comfortably and by this time I'm hot, bothered and vowing to go bra-less. Bra-shopping - what a chore!

The problem I have when I try to contain mine they then pop out in the middle and I hate that almost as much. I have been measured several times and then handed an underwired Bra that was supposed to be the right size. Spent money on it and its still blinking uncomfortable. I am about to buy some new ones a back size down and a cup size up as that's what all the YouTube Ladies are telling me. smile
