My Holiday Wardrobe

Good evening dear Gransnetters. Mr.B and I have not had a holiday for 3 years thanks to Covid. My holiday wardrobe is very outdated and much of it seems to have shrunk and is now too small. We are spending a long weekend on the west coast of Scotland in September and I need to buy a few things.

Do you think that this will be suitable beachwear? I shouldn’t need to worry about midge bites in September.

All suggestions/opinions welcome.

Gulp ! For a Scottish beach ?
I would think a wet suit would be more suitable ?

Blossoming Sat 20-Aug-22 18:08:22

Do you think so Aggie? I wouldn’t want to be mistaken for a seal.

Grannynannywanny Sat 20-Aug-22 18:08:49

I think that would be perfect for a sunny day at the beach but don’t forget the factor 50 ?

Also pack something like this for when the weather isn’t favourable.

I am so glad you featured this. It is just what I want for our cruise to Norway in two weeks time! I am just off to buy it - not!

Looks like a slingshot to me Lol! Alright for slaying haggis I guess!

Actually, as it will be Autumn it could get a bit chilly under the circumstances.

Perhaps this delightful ensemble might be better.

Blossoming Sat 20-Aug-22 18:18:17

Excellent suggestion, thank you Grannynannywanny

Perfect for cruising Monica grin

Do you think it might work for pelvic floor support PollyDolly?

Grandmabatty Sat 20-Aug-22 18:21:37

Blossoming ??. You might get a touch of frostbite with the first ensemble!

Could we see the back view of the 1st one - can't really judge with only the front view.

Georgesgran Sat 20-Aug-22 18:33:49

Around Scotland??? According to Billy Connolly - it’s the Arctic Ocean!

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Aug-22 18:36:06

Only with matching stilettos Blossoming

Grannynannywanny Sat 20-Aug-22 18:55:18

Don’t forget to consider evening wear Blossoming

Jaylou Sat 20-Aug-22 18:58:15

It could double up as a scarf for the chilly times.

Blossoming Sat 20-Aug-22 19:14:26

The very dab Grannynannywanny!

Do you think an ankle chain would finish it off Jaxjacky?

Blossoming Sat 20-Aug-22 19:19:11

I’m not sure if you can really call it a “back” Kittylester grin

Dear Blossoming, this is what I wear in September, with thermal underwear as well. Remember to bring a hot water bottle or two! wink
Of course an umbrella is de rigueur!

Blossoming Sat 20-Aug-22 19:29:39

I will pack my John Lewis thermals Marydoll, do you think a liberty bodice should be worn too?

Marydoll Sat 20-Aug-22 19:33:37

I assumed that you were bringing one anyway! Oh I forgot to mention the bed socks!!!

Granny23 Sat 20-Aug-22 19:37:22

Your swimsuit looks fine for a deserted highland beach. However I wouldn't risk it in hotter climes - too many tender bits would be exposed to sunburn.

Grandmabatty Sat 20-Aug-22 19:39:16

Marydoll good to see you posting your usual nonsense ☺️ I was concerned when you were missing from the Good Morning thread

foxie48 Sat 20-Aug-22 19:41:32

I would have considered it but feel it would leave unsightly tan marks and would have to remove any scissors within reach of OH.

Thanks, wasn't good this morning GB, a bit better now. Doing catch up!

I think I’ve found the perfect outfit with midge protection for the face too!

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Aug-22 20:08:03

I think as much gold as you can wear Blossoming medallion, anklets and bracelets. You may require double armbands to swim as it’ll be heavy.
