I’ve noticed over the last few years not many people wear wristwatches! Do you wear one! I’d feel lost without mine, despite having my mobile not far from me

tanith

I took my watch off the day I retired and haven’t worn one since. If I need to know my phone will tell me.

I did exactly the same! I do have a clock in the kitchen and one in my bedroom which I look at if in those rooms.

I don’t have an alarm clock either, I set an alarm on my phone if I need to wake up at a particular time.

I gave my grandson a Chelsea Football Club watch, he loved it, BUT had no clue how to tell the time!!!He's 14!! Ive never seen it on him, he uses his phone!

Yes, I always wear one.

Nvella Sun 28-Aug-22 11:14:06

I have an Apple Watch I wear all the time but neither of my adult sons have ever worn watches

i never wear a watch in the house but always when out and about. What I find fascinating is that a teacher told me that children do not understand terms such as 10 past the hour or a quarter to the hour. the use of mobile phones instead of watches means they only understand 11.10 or 11.45

Nope never really have worn a watch. Husband loves wearing his

I wear a wrist watch and find some of my ‘trying to be trendy’ friends use their mobiles instead but have to find their phones.
A family member needed a watch (10 years old) serviced a S___O watch it was £200 to have it serviced. He now uses his phone instead.

Love watches.. I wear my watch all the time. I am fortunate enough to have several that I keep to match what I'm wearing that day.

Both my kids wear watches, my DD has her smart watch DS still wearing the TAG we gave him for his 18th.

Always have a watch on wrist.

Jane43 Sun 28-Aug-22 11:26:31

I wear a Samsung smart watch most of the time but for special occasions I wear a gold Raymond Weil watch my mother bought me.

TillyWhiz Sun 28-Aug-22 11:30:07

Thank heavens for mobile phones. My husband was obsessed about watches and clocks, time as well. Watches never work on me, whatever the reason was, they packed up after a short while. I then got another for birthday or Christmas!

GrammarGrandma Sun 28-Aug-22 11:30:49

Yes, day and night. And a Fitbit on the other wrist.

Growing0ldDisgracefully Sun 28-Aug-22 11:40:45

I wear my Dad's watch. He wore it daily when he was alive and I alternate wearing Dad's watch (a proper old style needs winding every day type) with a Citizen watch my husband bought me years ago, which recharges itself. Nice to have a choice of 2 styles.

Theoddbird Sun 28-Aug-22 11:41:53

Not worn one for years and years. I get a rash as allergic to nickel that is in the back of so many of them....

Alioop Sun 28-Aug-22 11:42:39

I wear a Fitbit every day as I like counting my steps, but if I'm going out for a show or something I wear my wrist watch because it looks better. The only problem with that one is that I can't read the dial anymore so then the glasses have to come out.

helgawills Sun 28-Aug-22 11:43:40

I like to wear a watch but find it very hard to find one that fits my tiny wrists. Don't like leather or plastic straps, and metal ones can't be adjusted.

Grantanow Sun 28-Aug-22 11:53:40

I wear a Fitbit but I only use it for the time, day and date. It's advantage is that I can read the time without glasses and in the dark. I disabled the health stuff.

I feel lost without a watch if I am out..However I don’t always wear it at home, and don’t wear it at night. No criticism of anyone who does , I am just genuinely surprised that people do wear one at night.

annodomini Sun 28-Aug-22 11:55:41

I wear a watch every day, but it does seem to be a generational thing. My sons, middle aged, have 'smart' watches which are mini computers and, frankly, I dread the day when they decide to give me one for Christmas or birthday. The teenagers, who always seem to be surgically attached to their phones, use those as timepieces.

kevincharley Sun 28-Aug-22 12:01:42

Apart from a period when former husband had a spate of buying me one as a Christmas present and I was therefore obliged to wear one (and spent the subsequent months trying to lose or break it!) I haven't worn a watch since I was in school. I hate being constricted by the time and, unless I have an appointment to keep, it means very little.

nipsmum Sun 28-Aug-22 12:02:05

I wear a wristwatch all the time. Except when asleep.

Froglady Sun 28-Aug-22 12:03:02

Always

Ilikeflowers Sun 28-Aug-22 12:04:43

Every day. Only comes off at night. I have one I wear as my everyday watch and three, more dressy, watches.

Razzamatazz Sun 28-Aug-22 12:06:44

I don't wear a watch, rely on my mobile.

Moggycuddler Sun 28-Aug-22 12:08:14

No, never. Not for many years. Not since I had a mobile phone, which is always with me. I don't go out much and in the house there are clocks in every room.
