I’ve noticed over the last few years not many people wear wristwatches! Do you wear one! I’d feel lost without mine, despite having my mobile not far from me

Wear mine all the time.?

M0nica Thu 25-Aug-22 19:01:54

I wear mine 24/7.

No, I seem to have a bad effect on them and they go wrong. Mr. B says it’s my magnetism grin

This thread has reminded me that I need to have a new battery put in my (donkeys years old) Seiko watch so that I can wear it again. I like a watch, but with a phone to hand it’s easy to get out of the habit of wearing one.

I wear my fitbit most of the time but have a couple of nice dress watches...I can't go go bed without my fitbit...I like to know the time if I wake up...Need glasses for distance so a clock at my bedside would be no good for me.

I’ve always worn a watch since I was a child. I’ve had an iWatch since before Covid, which I can wear when swimming or showering so I rarely take it off. I love to hear Minnie Mouse tell me the time.

I always wear a watch when I leave the house. It takes too long to get my phone out.

I wear a wristwatch during the day all the time. It’s solar powered, so I don’t need to bother about batteries.

I always wear a watch. Mine has a push button to light it up - handy if I wake in the night and for camping.

I treated my watch to a new strap - it's bright red so easy to find! I wear it most of the time during the day,
Sometimes I don't have it on and get quite cross with my wrist when it tells me the time is 'two hairs past the freckle' !

I used to wear a watch all the time while wondering why people used their phones instead. Gradually it just seemed easier to use my phone instead, just as it seemed easier to use my phone instead of an alarm clock.

I like to wear a watch and have a summer one and a winter one.

I always notice if a man has a nice watch on too.

My husband bought me a lovely watch for my 50th birthday (21 years ago) and I wear it every day. Just take it off at night and to shower.

I ceremoniously ditched mine as routine wear the day I retired.

I always wear a watch, except in the shower or bath. Have done since a Timex when I was about 10. I have two, one set at summertime the other for wintertime and wear each one for six months. Family think I’m barmy but it works for me.

I wear a very old Roamer watch mainly, I’m never without a wristwatch.

Bixiboo Thu 25-Aug-22 22:56:14

I have worn a watch for many years, would be lost without it. Having slim wrists I don’t think the Apple Watch or equivalent looks or feels good even though they are probably more popular than a standard watch.

I have a very cheap but attractive floral face wristwatch by Ravel. Mobile phone is fine but wristwatch is quicker except in the night.

My parents bought me a gold watch on a leather strap when I was 21 - a windy up one. Fast forward 30 years and a new model by the same manufacturer (modelled by Cindy Crawford) caught my eye. Expensive, but an interest free credit deal and it was mine and I’ve worn it ever since and bought DD1 the same one when she was 30. I do like a nice watch.

Using a phone as a wristwatch means that you have to carry the bloomin thing round with you all the time, even when indoors. When out it is generally in my handbag.

I park my phone somewhere accessible for when it phones, but to have to take it round with me all the time even in the loo just to keep an eye on the time would drive me nuts. A quick glance at my wrist whenever I need to know the time is so much easier and more efficient.

I have an Apple Watch and wear it all the time.

I wear a watch all the time, even though my phone is always on me in my back pocket. I have a penchant for Winnie the Pooh watches, adult ones are quite discreet, my current one needs a new battery, so I’m wearing a small Timex.

I wear a watch all my waking hours. The current one was, I think, a free gift from Cotton Traders, and has a narrow strap with a face large enough to see without glasses.

I have an incredible eco drive watch so no battery and because it’s a sealed unit it is totally waterproof.
It’s gold and silver so goes with anything.
I also have a beautiful silver watch with a jewelled bezel for high days and holidays.

Sago I have a Citizen eco watch with a smart gold effect bracelet which I bought about 17 years ago thinking it would last a lifetime. However, it hasn’t. You place it in sunlight to charge. Sometime ago it stopped working. I had difficulty to find a repairer and then I had to pay for a transformer or somesuch. It has now stopped working again so I’m wondering what to do. Not as eco as I thought.
