Can anyone recommend a comfortable bra?

As has been said, a comfortable bra is an oxymoron

I've looked at the comments Petra but sometimes these are not genuine customer comments.

I’ve worn Triumph Amourette underwired bras for years. Very comfortable. They make them in lots of lovely colours also. They’re not cheap however I buy them when on offer Usually from John Lewis.

I don’t know how much you pay when on offer but have you looked on eBay? These are kosher bras.
Small companies buy up end of line but have to cut out the label.
I buy my M&S bras on eBay.

You can't beat M&S, for soft,non wired bras, and I have a larger size They were 2 for £20. The best I've ever worn, gives good shape, and much cheaper than branded names.

Regarding the under boob rash mentioned by several posters. I suffered from this last summer. Antifungal stuff helped but didn't clear it. Even after 4 weeks.

My ddil (nurse) suggested washing the area using Fairy antibacterial dish washing liquid. Within 5 days it was completely gone. I still keep a bottle in the bathroom cabinet just in case. Ddil learned this from her farmer father who used it to clean out his milking shed and keep his cows healthy.

Regarding fitting a bra I wear a 36h and M & S were unable to offer me a bra that fitted. Sales assistant tried to convince me that I was 42f, then gave up.
I have Bravissimo who do tend to fit with a very tight band which eases in a couple of weeks. Also Triumph Doreen and several Fantasie.

When I was a teenager I never imagined that I would be thankful for having small boobs 😄

I'm new to Gransnet, and have to say I was very cheered to see this. Don't get me wrong, I'm sorry some of you have problems, but I can't find a decent bra either. I'm a 44E and could generally find something in Tescos but after surgery on my wrist I can't really cope with back fastening bras. I did send for some front fastening bras I saw on FB but no way are they a 44E. They're a 38.

I succumbed, never in my life thought I would like a doreen bra. I bought two three months ago and they are the comfiest ever, nice snug straps that don`t slip and very comfy underbust. I got the cotton rich ones and three days ago decided that these are the best for me and my changing shape as I descend southwards. Anyway they do give me a decent shape

So I have ordered some more and now need to go through all my `nice` bras, none were cheap. I have one space in which to keep my bras and that is that. Several years ago, I sent a package of bras to a charity, I could do that again

If I had saved all my useless bras that did not fit, that were too lacy and prickly, those where my cup runneth over, stitched them together, they would have made one mighty big parachute!

I’m big busted hate them! The only ones that lift me are Doreen bras but I take them off soon as I’m in straight in the bath then free!

Look at Damart, yes I know you'd never associate bras with Damart, but look them up.
Type in 'camisole bra'. These are the most comfortable bras I have ever come across, and for some reason the lurid pink ones are more comfortable than the white ones.
I've tried to copy and paste a picture from the catalogue but its not 'working' for me.

Well said BlueBelle….never has been a comfortable bra because we’re not built to have pointy out breasts…..haven’t worn a bra for over 20 years….finially rebelled from this constriction at 50 when realised we all wear them for the wrong reason ….men!! We all should’ve done it when we ditched that other torturous piece of clothing …..the girdle…..but we didn’t!!
I’ve actually been complimented on my bra-less shape by other women ( usually the most bitchy people) and it does seem my constriction free boobs have managed quite well once released to ‘get on with it’😂

Fantasie makes wonderful bras for all sizes. I am 34 g buy full cup side support, hardly know I'm wearing them. They're
not cheap but comfort is everything for me.

Having looked through my undies drawer I found several bras which I haven’t worn for a while because they were too tight so today I have bought a bra extender thingy and will try that with the ones I bought last time I got fitted which obviously have had little wear. Worth a try!

I love M and S non-wired bras after falling out with Gossard wired bras several years ago, as they started to get very uncomfortable. One of the problems I’ve found though is that I find a bra that’s perfect for me, then they stop making it, and the whole process begins again . I looked to see if I could send you a link for the latest two styles that work for me, pretty, good support etc, and just discovered they are no longer available. It’s a good job I bought a few, I do this as I’ve been caught out before! I wonder if your rash could be caused by the silicone that some bras have below the bust to stop movement , this was a problem for me , they are not meant to be worn for a full day. I took them back and got a refund after pointing out info on the label and my allergic reaction. Good luck!

I totally agree with Froglady have been buying M and S Total Support bras for years and go for those with high cotton content . I machine wash but do not use tumble dryer.

These posts have made me feel so much better as I thought I was the only one who couldn't get a comfortable bra and also have a drawer full that seemed OK on purchase but no good now. I wouldn't say I have a big bust but my problem is I have a broad back so sizes don't always match up. I'm not near a Primark but may try those at some point as some of you seem happy with them. I got measured ages ago at M & S and bought some bras at the time but found although theoretically the same size some were OK and some weren't. I've gone braless at home since Covid times but not sure it helps your sagging boobs to do that and it gets a bit uncomfortable under the bust sometime.

Bravissimo for me but try to go to one of their shops and be properly fitted..
