Can anyone recommend an average priced facial moisturiser with a high SPF level, to wear under foundation, please? One that doesn't start to 'pill' when the foundation is applied. Thanks.

i got one from poundland, spf 25, not sure of price.
don't know how it behaves under make-up as i don't use any, but it feels ok on skin and hopefully repels rays.
small box with red marking, #6.

other places have tinted moisturisers with spf, but obviously more expensive.
you could ask in boots, superdrug, or fancy pharmacies.
good luck.

Most foundations now have spf 15 and over?

Cetaphil do a moisturizer with SPF 50 - sorry, haven't used it myself but good reviews on the Boots website. My friend uses it and she says it soaks in to her skin quite well and she uses it every day under makeup.

I use Avon tinted moisturiser with SPF20. 5 or 6 quid a tube. Been using it for years but if I go in brilliant sunshine I put SPF 50 lotion on too.

I use Eucerin Factor 50 sun fluid pigment control. It’s important to have full UVA protection as well as UVB.

UltraSun factor 50 tinted so I don’t need to wear foundation as well.

I always use Cetaphil facial factor 50 or CeraVe facial factor 50 when I’m on holiday. Otherwise I use Elemis factor 30 or Clinique or Olay factor 15.

I use Nivea Moisture and Protect Factor 50 but they also do 30. It was recommended by Which last year as giving full UVA and UVB coverage.

I use Aldi moisturiser which is SPF 30. Don't wear makeup, though, so can't comment on how it behaves with makeup.

Heliocare do a tinted one SPF 50 no need for a foundation

L'Oreal Revitalift spf30. I wouldn't use anything less than spf30.

I love bare minerals tinted gel moisturiser with fact 35 . Is expensive but all I need and lighter weight than foundations but does the job . I look round for offers on it and lasts for months and months used daily .

I also use bare minerals over Altruist factor 50 available at Sainsbury’s. Altruist was advised by my dermatologist - the one that cut off most of my nose.
I’m sticking to that.

Thank you, all, for your helpful suggestions. Plenty of ideas there for me to try. I find that when I go into stores such as Boots and Superdrug, there are SO many different SPF moisturisers on the shelves to choose from and they all promise to do wonderful things .... if only! Better to listen to other gransnetters for tried and trusted brands rather than to a beautifully unwrinkled shop assistant who has never experienced any sun damage or other age-related issues. Thank you.

am currently using one from poundland,
anti-ageing hyaluronic day cream with spf 25.
50ml jar, in a mauve box. #6 range.
don't know price, but own brand, so quite cheap.
seems ok.

Am using Superdrug or Sainsbury's own brands, Factor 50, about £5 each.

I use Simple Protect 'n Glow radiance booster - a dry oil - after my moisturiser. It isn't greasy, has SPF30 and gives my skin a bit of "oomph"! Just three drops on the palm of your hand, rub hands together lightly and press into the skin. The little bottle has lasted me ages, nearly a year, and it is always on special offer somewhere like Boots, Sainsburys, Tesco etc.

I use Clinique City Block factor 50. Lightly tinted and quickly absorbed. I don’t use foundation though.

Boots sell a factor 30 one called Skin , I think. I always use it and it’s quite reasonably priced.

Ultrasun tinted face sun lotion
Factor 50
From QVC

I highly recommend this one by Nivea. It's factor 50 doesn't sting your eyes and sinks in to the skin without that sticky white look. I wear it under make up every day summer and winter to protect my skin. Roughly £10 when on offer at Boots. I've tried many and no other comes close for lightness and fantastic value
