Beautiful grey hair!

any colour product can cause damage to hair, go grey, nature intended it!

I let my colour grow out during the pandemic. I use a purple shampoo so that it doesn’t go brassy/yellow. A real saving at the hairdresser!

I have silver white hair. It's very shiny and the best shampoos and conditioners are White Hot Hair products. They're fantastic!

My hair was dyed ash blonde for many years. When I decided to let it grow out, I washed it with a purple shampoo (Provoke, I think), which worked well at subduing the yellow tones.

Inspired by some of the women I saw in Denmark with grey hair looking very chic. I've let mine grow out and blend it with my highlights now.

I stopped getting my hair dyed blonde about a year ago my hairdresser puts silver foils in every couple of months I also use White Hot products and my hair feels much softer and conditioned

I use the Daniel Field water colour every 3 months and you just mix the powers in a bottle of very warm water ( the right ratio) and it turns into a mousse , leave on for 40 mins with supplied cap over your hair then wash out in the shower and it’s done ! It isn’t a strong over colour and blends with the grey as only goes for white hair . Use a lighter colour than your own and a lot less nastiest like ammonia or peroxide . It fades so don’t have roots or anything . For me it’s the answer anyway and not too arduous to use .

I was naturally very dark with very subtle shades of red. I started to let my “natural” grey grow through in lockdown. I hated it, it was a horrible grey, not a lovely silver or white grey, but a dirty dull looking grey. I’ve found a lovely hairdresser and now have my hair lightened (not using harsh bleaches) and the colours are subtle and look nice for an almost 65 year old. Each to their own.

I'm in my sixties but my hair doesn't seem to be going grey (I'm a darkish blond) just quietly fading...

Mine was bright Manic Panic pillarbox red when I let mine grow out. I wore wigs for a few months and then cut it really short. But right now I kind of dig the look of the gray hair with the red tips if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't wear wigs for so long. It's all up to the individual though . I don't even know how many years ago has to be more than 10. I never looked back once, never regretted it

I too have blonde hilights but my roots are quite dark and drive me mad, there seems very little grey in them yet (I’m 72 next month). My Dad’s hair stayed quite dark with just a little grey until his death in his mid 80s and my Mum’s was grey but quite a dark sort of patchy grey which I wouldn’t want. I do have some friends with beautiful white/grey hair but I don’t think I’m going to be that lucky so I’m resigned to the hilights.

Been growing mine through for ten months now I was black haired and I’m loving the colours that are appearing

Davvizus I was dark blonde and it just got lighter and lighter and I m now ash blonde, white/ blonde not sure of the real name But everyone says it looks good so that ll do me and costs not a penny 😀

In order to prevent an obvious white crown as the colour grows out, why don't you ask for some blond streaks or highlights. It makes the transition easier.

My hair was dyed medium brown when I decided to let it go in 2020. My hairdresser put dark ash blond streaks to blend it while it grew out. I had regular cuts as well so the transition happened relatively quickly.

Have your salon colorist ease you into a natural looking growing out period till you reach your desired goal. They know how to do it to make it look natural and spectacular.

The best feeling EVER is leaving behind the coloring process - think of the $money$ you’ll be saving!! You’ll still have to cut your hair but a GOOD stylist will make it your crown just like French women have.

My coarse, formerly curly, thick head of hair is now in far better condition after stopping the colour and letting it go grey. Was a hairdresser that suggested it. So glad I did. The halfway stage is a bit meh. But now it looks great. Would still love my old natural dark mop. But this is the next best thing and far better than the dull-haired dye look I had before. A good purple conditioner is a good tip. 😍

I used to dye my hair blonde ( I’m naturally very dark brown !) and one day decided to just let the blond grow out . My hairdresser suggested that I shouldn’t try and hurry the process with tints etc so I have continued to let it go grey . I’m nearly blind free and the grey is a lovely shade , so I’m sticking with it 😂 . If I hated it , I think I’d would have got the blond dye out again !!!

I let mine go grey about 7 years ago. Wish I’d done it sooner as I really like it. (Not sure I will like it when it is completely white.) It’s a great saving in time and money. Suits my face at 77 better than an artificial colour.
My daughter at 52 has stopped colouring her hair although she only has a few white hairs. It’s a bit of a trend to go grey right now.

I used to dye my hair auburn but I gradually let it grow out when it was showing silver grey at the roots. Its is all silvery grey now. Its down to my waist and I wear it up in a high topknot. Ive been tempted to crop it short and wear a wig (I have dozens for the models in my shop) because its a lot of trouble to look after.

I have white hair and spent a couple of years allowing it to grow out of being 'blonde'. As someone has said, having highlights was most helpful and no-one guessed.
Now, I have admiring glances from a lot of people and cannot subscribe to the notion that long hair is aging. No-one thinks I am over eighty years of age.! Even my hairdresser expresses words of envy!

I purchase white hot hair products online I don't think they are available in shops my hair has never been in better condition since I started using it

I let mine grow out and I’m lucky as it’s a lovely silvery blonde all over. I use a purple shampoo to keep it from looking yellow but the condition of it is so much better. As others have said a good cut is the key. I get lots of comments about my hair which is still thick. I’m very glad I did it.

I'm one of those people on whom grey hair has a really ageing effect. I don't know why. I don't mind being older.... I'm lucky enough to have good health at the moment.... I just don't want to look it !
At the moment I'm trying to bite the bullet ... a bit.... by growing out my colour leaving me all grey. I plan to see if it's any better than the last time I went grey(7 years ago) and if not then I'll re-dye.
