I went to France a few weeks ago & many women of retirement age have grey hair and they looked gorgeous! I'm going to let mine grow out now, I have been dyeing it blonde for years and it's white underneath, my question is can I have the blonde bleached out to make it white soon? Or do I just have to let the blonde grow out then have it cut off?

I am 80 this year and still haven't the beautiful silver hair my mother had a 60. I don't believe my hair will ever go white.
It's that in between stage, I have flashes of grey with my dark hair still growing it is so frustrating.

I'm 64, began going grey at 25. My natural colour was almost black, so I always dyed it very dark until 3 or 4 years ago, when I applied stuff to strip all the colour out (it took 3 boxes of the stuff) and dyed it blonde. A month ago, I decided to leave it, and had a lot of blonde highlights to merge in with the white.

My hairdresser chopped my blonde bob that was going grey and found the back very dark. He cuts that in very close and I have a sweeping blonde /grey fringe when I leave the salon. When I wash it I have to use products to keep it in place but do like it. He said bobs accentuate going grey or white as you have a definite parting and they are ageing as they drag your features down, he messes mine up to hide it parting not face.
I use John Frieda Products and my Hairdresser is London trained not what you would expect where I live.blush
