For me, cargo/hiking style trousers, with multiple pockets.

I had my colours done and I'm a warm spring. Black makes me look like I've risen from the dead in a very bad way but clear oranges and yellows make me look healthy and make my eyes look bluer. I hate buying clothes in autumn and winter because it's harder to find my colours. I live in jeans, boots and jumpers....

Greciangirl Tue 09-Jan-24 14:43:15

Definitely lots of warm leggings in winter with long baggy jumpers and tops.

Loose baggy culottes and trousers in summer.

Denim jeans worn occasionally with boots if wanting to look reasonably smart.

As a “light autumn “ I always go for soft blues , green , pink and rust , beige and ivory . I look awful in black near my face and bright red , orange and turquoise tend to clash with my cheeks and hair . I think we do have a range of colours that suit us and when we are older know what to go for . My eldest ( brightly dressed) son has had the cheek to criticise my love of bright colours ( if they suit me ) ! 😀

I would love to achieve a capsule wardrobe. May I ask what’s in your Winter wardrobe?

Casdon Tue 09-Jan-24 17:17:31

I can really recommend this Crazyquilter.

It’s adaptable to your own circumstances, colour preferences etc.

Callistemon21 Tue 09-Jan-24 17:26:49

Plain dark trousers with strong coloured tops; wishy washy pinks, pale blues etc don't suit me at all although, strangely, cream does, usually with a scarf.
Boots and I like socks, find them comforting.

I really dislike tights, jeggings, leggings, wearing them gives me heebie jeebies and makes me uncomfortable and on edge.

Callistemon21 Tue 09-Jan-24 17:37:57

I should have said pastels not wishy-washy, apologies.

Pastels do suit some people.

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 09-Jan-24 17:42:13

I’m not one of them. Can’t wear pastels, they make me look totally washed out. Black and navy suit me best which is odd as so many say they can’t wear black now they’re older. So my wardrobe is quite funereal!

RosiesMaw Tue 09-Jan-24 17:45:06

I’m impressed.
Silky shirts
Bombshell dresses
Velvet jeans

Don’t see many of those down the bingo or the Day Centre.

Kathmaggie Tue 09-Jan-24 17:47:58

Scarves - all seasons I wear a scarf, warm and thick or soft and floaty. Plain or colourful.

SuperTinny Tue 09-Jan-24 19:20:18

My husband refers to my go to summer wear as my 'summer uniform'. I wear cropped jeggings with a T shirt in the summer (I've got lots in different colours).
In winter again its mostly denim or cord jeggings with a jumper, again in different colours.
I've just joined a choir with 'Red' in its title, so now when I open my wardrobe I have am confronted by a sea of red, so far couple of jackets and a fleece poncho!

JamesandJon33 Tue 09-Jan-24 19:25:51

Seasalt tunics and jeggings or large jumpers and cords in winter.

Apart from having too many clothes 🙄 I hate anything tight, itchy, scratchy labels (M&S are the worse), anything around my neck and frills (rather like you flappergirl)
I don’t like pastel colours and have stopped wearing black so much, I prefer deeper colours.

That's interesting. Have you always been like this. I have, since I was a young child. My mother used to despair because she liked to dress me up. Most jumpers were wool then too. Clothes shopping takes me ages and I often come home empty handed.

Incredibly, I wear tights in winter, under jeans for warmth but wouldn't wear jeggings or leggings ever, even if given to me for free.

Jumpsuits have all colours and styles they take you anywhere

Love them, but not paying visits to the loo…😁

Jeans, white shirts, boots / trainers, oversize jumpers, scarves in mine.I would wear black leggings - but I have a white-ish spaniel & dislike of lint rollers.

Yes, I did think about wearing thick tights under trousers today as it was so cold but then realised I'd thrown them all out.

I wear thermal leggings under my trousers in cold weather ....... I buy them in M&S. They keep me nice and warm. I have also invested in M&S thermal sleeveless vests this year. They too keep me warm ...... I just wish they were a bit longer so I have more tuckage (is tuckage a word?)

GANNET Thu 11-Jan-24 07:25:14

Jeans and jumper or white shirts - flat boots and a nice coat. I can’t resist a coat! Now it’s cold black tights and wool dresses with a coat and flat boots. I really could get rid of a lot of my wardrobe when I think about it!

MayBee70 Sat 13-Jan-24 15:25:45

I wear leggings with my walking trousers over the top. I feel the cold so badly. Realised I’ve got a long black hooded fleece at my house and one at my partners and no matter how many clothes I have with me I live in the black hoodie. When I need to look smarter I’ve got a newer long black hoodie that I put on.

Dopamine dressing for me. I wear what makes me happy, usually lots of bright colours. Shapes wise I like wide leg jeans and cords with poloneck tops and an M&S thermal top underneath!

Whitewavemark2 Wed 14-Feb-24 08:10:02

I’m another who dislikes, tights, leggings etc, I find them incredibly annoying.

So in winter I wear Nordic type woollen socks and summer bare legs.

I live mostly in trousers and wool or cashmere or alpaca sweaters, in winter. I do have dresses for smart occasions.
In summer, capri type or longer linen trousers with cotton/linen/silk tops for every day. I do also wear long (knee length) shorts of it is very hot, or very loose linen dresses.

My colours are spring so clear lighter colours although I love greens and blues.

My mother would make me wear wool jumpers, trousers, skirts, everything she made despite it bringing me up in rashes. I remember my inner thighs rubbed raw . I had no choice.
I have never liked having tight tops pulled over my head- I was a breech birth so possibly that’s why. My mother made all our clothes, a brilliant seamstress but we did as we were told or else….☹️
M&S labelling drives me mad, so scratchy. I always cut labels out.
I do wear merino wool and cashmere occasionally but always with a collared, long sleeved shirt underneath, never next to my skin.

MissAdventure Wed 14-Feb-24 08:23:11

If it fits, I wear it, these days.
I really dislike beige, though.

downtoearth Wed 14-Feb-24 08:59:26

MissAgrin

I wear lots of bright colours too, love sludgy greens,/ khaki colours, and autumn colours, mustard yellow
Jeggings, jeans in dark blue or black trainers, boots, I love jackets ,dresses with boots, biker jackets.
I have duscovered Snag tights they are sooo comfortable in thick denier,I thought tights where a work of the devil.
I wear knee length in winter with the afore mentioned tights, longer in summer the midaxi suits my short arse body as I hate the colour of my legs, just realised thats a lot of clothes I have.
