Comfortable sandals

Hi,
I am MOB in June and I'm struggling to find decent shoes or sandals that will be comfortable all day, are a wide fit, are elegant.
Not too high, not a thin heel as I would wobble all over.

Please can anyone suggest somewhere to look?

Thank you

I wore a floaty trouser outfit and was able to get away with goldish/silverish lurex flat slip ons.

Habit have some beautiful low wedges in various colours and wide fitting. I have about the fuchsia ones for my granddaughters wedding in june.

GABOR not habit!

PreGran, In recent years, I've bought, tried - and given away - all types of sandals and found none of them comfortable. I've had wide fitting, cushioned, adjustable, even those downright ugly 'walking' (what else would you do in them?) kind. Now, I've decided that my poor old feet just can't do them, so it's lightweight, breathable trainers for me. Comfort is vital, 'elegant' is not. At my daughter's wedding, I changed into pretty ones just for the photos!

My friend is getting married in June. It's an on the beach "do", but still an occasion to dress up, so I have been flicking through suitable sandals, in wide. So far, Clarks and one called Bioeco Marina in a soft gold are on my list.
Have a fun time.

I find Gabor are very comfortable, do a wide fitting. Worth a look.

Yes Gabor. Go to Charles Clinkard website. They have continental styles which are different, and wide fittings too.

I got comfortable but elegant sandals for my son's wedding at Clarks.
Good Luck smile

Oh wow, Miss A, I’ve never come across Irregular Choices. What a find, if many years too late.

I’ve yet to see an elegant Birkenstock Sandal.
More than happy to change my mind if shown the proof 😀

They're eye catching to say the least, aren't they?
I love some of the iridescent ones. smile
Too late for me to decide I'm a "shoe person" though. smile

I love Irregular Choice too! Wish they had been around years ago.

MissAdventure Wed 20-Mar-24 09:15:20

I'm pretty sure that with a bit of imagination, someone could make a normal pair of court shoes "irregular".

Used to jazz up my Doc Martens with all sorts, when I was a young flibbertyjibbet.

Marks and Spencer do a range of wide fitting sandals. The new collection has a lovely strappy pair, in a variety of colours, which might work for you

MissA I have sent your link to my granddaughter I’m sure she will love them…..as will her mum! Great find!

MissAdventure Wed 20-Mar-24 09:35:27

I'm glad they bring a smile.

They look so outrageously over the top.

midgey Wed 20-Mar-24 09:37:55

Oh!…..I thought that’s what you were wearing these days. smile

MissAdventure Wed 20-Mar-24 09:41:11

Well, in my mind I am. smile

I second The last trading post Barrowford. I go there with my DD there is a great choice there.

JollyJilly Wed 20-Mar-24 11:45:28

I wear Hotter shoes and sandals, they are both comfortable and elegant. I have Hammer toes and need a wide fitting, they do these in wedges etc. Go on their website there are some gorgeous colours.

How about irregular choice?
They now do wide fitting shoes and sandals.

Crikey. They look like Pantomime Dame shoes. 🤣

Twiglet I too love Ecco sandals. I have a high instep and a D-E width. You can adjust the straps. I find them very comfortable. For extra wide fitting try Cosyfeet, based in Street Somerset. Ladders and Hotters are usually ok too.

25Avalon Wed 20-Mar-24 13:23:34

Padders not ladders

Perhaps pretty ballet flats?

I love salt water sandals so comfortable but they are all flat. Several styles with an ankle strap or just slip ons with an open back. Lovely colours but maybe not suitable if you want a heel
