Skin creams

I’m sure you’ll get lots of advice and recommendations here.
Mine is, whatever you buy, use it regularly. Personally I don’t think very expensive creams are any better - probably just prettier pots and jars.

my skin has some dry patches and I like NO7 creams...there's day cream and night cream, and to be truthful I don't see any difference between them...I bought a big tub of aqueous face cream from Savers...500ml for £1 and it does the job jaust as well

I'm 78 and I've been very pleased with Clarins Moisture Surge. A small pot is about £15 if you want to give it a try.

My sking can't bear anything heavy- I use Clinique's 'Dramatically Different' so light, goes right in and disappears. Perfect.

Nivea Soft is great, and frequently on offer in supermarkets, £5 ish for a big pot.
Can be used on face, hands and body.

I’m using that Nivea for body, Elemis for face.

I'm still using Boots no 7 for mature skin- works for me!

Nivea -the one in the blue pot. After my shower I use it all over then rub in my hands until it's like a lotion for my face. Just pat it on. I have very sensitive skin and tried allsorts before with all kinds of itchiness and bumps, some very expensive. I don't know if it keeps me youthful but I feel more comfortable.

I use whatever is cheapest on the supermarket shelf. I'm 75.

I use Lidl day and night creams , I have tried more expensive creams,but find they irritate my skin.

Best skin I ever saw was a friend nearly 80, she used Nivea, dark blue tub.

L'Oreal Age Perfect. They have a full range.

Boots No. 7 Future Renew has worked for me, wrinkles less visible and I'm 83.

I had a skin test at Boots and bought the recommended serum and cream. My skin started geting really flaky, so eventually I decided to try E45 cream and have found it better than anything.

For body use QV cream. I do like Aveeno but a bit expensive for me.
For face and neck M & S Pure. Love it, never had any irritating reaction and I buy it when discounted on Sparks. Jar lasts for months. One I cannot use even though given 3 attempts is Loreal. Just bring me out in a hot rash no matter which formula.

Have used L’Oreal but find Aldis face creams just as good.

Nivea Protect and Moisture during the day (I never go out without sunscreen) and various Aldi moisturisers at night. I am 80 and my doctor commented on how good my skin is.

Have a look at Carline Hirons recommendations, she doesn't always rate the expensive stuff and suggests to spend on serums with active ingredients and go for a more budget moisturiser as that is basically just locking in the moisture.
The No.7 ranges have good actives and are value for money, often on 3 for 2.

I like La Roche Posay Hydraphase, Boots sell it, they do a rich and a light version, and with/without sun protection. It the version without protection absorbs very easily but the one with sun protection leaves more of a film on your skin . It's often on offer in different online stores.
Over the years I've tried many brands but find this is perfect for me.

I agree with you about L'Oreal, for me it just doesn't moisturise. It's almost as though it puts a dry coating on my skin which makes my skin really uncomfortable.

I love Tropic but I do use other brands occasionally too as I find that my skin reacts if I use the same thing for too long.

Used Clinique for many years but was then told by 2 different beauticians in different shops that Clinique was really only for young skins. Since then have chopped and changed a bit, usually Estee Lauder sometimes Boots own and presently Murad which seems to be very good - so far.

Agree about L’Oreal creams - they just leave a plasticky layer on top of the skin, don’t sink in. I’m a big fan of Prai Gold anti wrinkle cream, it feels really luxurious, and melts into the skin. Pricey, around £35, but you can shop around online to find it cheaper. M&S stock it in larger stores if you want to test it in person.

I use The Inkey List products, they do not test on animals nor do any of their suppliers (ingredients) also they are Vegan.

Reasonable prices, good quality products and no allergic reactions for me.
