Tired of trainers!

FitFlop have some suede trainers that look like smart lace up shoes. The other bonus is the sides are not white like so many other city walking type shoes. Sadly, my usual size don’t fit so I’ve had to send them back.
I’ve been looking for shoes I can walk in on the odd city/art gallery /going away on holiday occasion. I want smart comfort - very difficult to find. I may have been spoiled by trainers, so comfortable

I find Josef Seibel and Rohde both make shoes that give good support. They have some interesting colours available too. I usually buy in the sales!

I wear loafers for a change from trainers. I’ve just bought some lovely pink suede ones from Hotters sale.
My gripe is the fashion for putting white edging and soles on shoes!

I am an EEEE and also have to wear an inner sole so more like EEEEE.

I used to trip around in the highest heels ever and now have a spectacular collection of very expensive shoes that I will never wear again but can't bear to part with. But then that's probably how I got all the my foot problems!

I too despair of finding a nice court shoe - I don't want to wear trainers to a wedding or suchlike.

I have had moderate success with DB Shoes. A lot are of the old fashioned orthopaedic type shoes but there are a few you could use for a dress up occasion. Expensive, but they generally have offers, which I snap up when I see them.

Their customer service is good too.

Also just remembered I have got the odd pair from JD Williams but you have to be careful, their cheap shoes look, well... like cheap shoes! But they do have the odd nicer looking shoe.

I have bought Vionic sandals recently and love them.
They were in a sale and a fraction of the original price.

RosiesMaw2 I would pop into your local Clark’s Shoe Shop, have your feet measured (I appreciate you know your size but our feet alter just like the rest of our body)

Clark’s have a wide range of shoes nowadays they have dragged themselves into the 21st Century.

Doc Martens all the way - things got a bit limited after the amputation and I see plenty of Summer styles that would be lovely, if only......but DM's are ideal but it's a bit of an endurance test in Summer. Still.

Sketchers have a range of sandals now, I have two pairs, almost as comfy as their trainers.

I have just bought Silver Loafers from Fitflop. When I wore them the first time with bare feet, they were perfect, so soft comfortable, they are my favourite atm.

Mephisto, DocMartens, Birkenstock, JosefSeibel -- smart casual.

My favourite Converse Chucks - not smart by most standards.

These are so comfortable, with really grippy soles - Loretta from Pavers.

I also feel fed up with my trainers and also have lots - though I do tend to wear the same couple of pairs all the time. And, I have lots of pairs of boots but always wear the ones I have had for ever.

I'm not sure I am able to manage ordinary shoes though. I don't seem to have the same 'grip' for slip ons now.

I agree with the poster who dislikes white edging and soles. Try finding any other colour (except black). Don't the designers realise that, after a few wears, the shoes/trainers start to look grubby. I recently went to a shop which sold every make of trainer and flat shoe imaginable and asked the assistant if there were any without the white edging. There were none so I'm thinking they don't exist.

I have never worn trainers. Josef Siebel Neele is my favourite shoe plus DM Mary Jane’s and anything Birkenstock. I like clumpy shoes.
