What do other grans recommend?
I have seen adverts on FB for Lanera foundation which offers waterproof full cover, but am loathe to buy a foundation from FB as the reviews are often made up.
I want a full cover lasting foundation, any ideas?

Firstly I would say that full cover is not always recommended as we age. How about something lighter. I have started Charlotte Tilbury who seems to be very kind to ageing skin. Moisturiser and a primer first will help any product go on better.

I know several people who use Estee Lauder Double Wear, they all prefer a full cover foundation.

Another vote for Estée Lauder Double Wear. It can be a bit heavy but I mix it with a Clinique foundation to get the coverage I need. It lasts all day without having to touch up.

But look at the price of that Estee Lauder recommended !!!

Why must you have full cover foundation OP? It isn’t a good look as we age as BigBertha says.

Precisely the reason I stopped buying it a couple of years ago it’s a ridiculous price and there are plenty of other options on the market now…
I do chop and change a bit, but this is the one I’ve been using recently very satisfied with it and the price is very, very reasonable
Oh, I forgot we can’t add pictures at the moment 🤦‍♀️
Anyway, it’s Bell hypoallergenic long lasting coverage, optically smooth skin, protection from blue light.. It’s also vegan..

Personally, I like full coverage…😁

I succumbed to the Lanera ad on FB.
If you want a mask like appearance then it is for you.
I tried it a couple of times but wiped it off .

My evening make up foundation has been Estée Lauder Double wear, for a few years my daughter is a fan too.

Day time, I tend to use either Clarins BB cream or the new one from Estée Lauder Futurist Skin Tint Serum Foundation comes in a Dropper bottle, it's light, good coverage and lasts all day.
At the moment JL have Discount on these foundations.

Visgirl I have just started using Estee Lauder futurist skin, I really like it.

I have used their Daywear plus in the summer for 15 plus years, it comes out grey and adapts to your skin colour.

Estée Lauder double wear has £10 off in Boots at the moment it’s down to £29.65.

Boots have up to 25% off of premium makeup brands.

I use boots No 7 it's great , I went into the store and they did a colour match for my skin. Great price too

When I see ads on FB I always look at eBay if they interest me. Always alot cheaper.

Beauty Pie do a nice foundation and it’s only around £16 but you do have to join and pay a subscription. Personally I think it’s worth it as their skincare products are excellent.

I have never worn a foundation in all my life, just moisturiser and serum, maybe I am fortunate to have good skin.

Barleyfields Fri 28-Feb-25 13:52:17

I tried foundation and tinted moisturiser briefly but never again - so obvious, especially in sunlight. I wear eye makeup which of course is obvious, but I do like real skin with just a touch of concealer under my eyes. My skin is good due to serum, moisturiser and sunscreen.

I’m not a lover of Estée Lauder double wear. Phoera is much better and you buy it on eBay for £6.99. It’s a lovely light foundation but does give full coverage. Lanera is the same as Phoera.

I’d like to recommend Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish compact foundation. I bought it on Amazon for £21, which is a big discount. You put it on with the sponge which they supply and you can use as much as you feel you need. It has quite a matte finish which I like.

Since having problems with my skin and being photosensitive I have used IT CC+ Colour Correcting Full Coverage with Factor 50 UVA UVB coverage. It is light and glides on easily with a foundation brush. It is quite expensive but it lasts ages, one tiny pump does my whole face and neck and you can usually shop around and find it on offer somewhere. John Lewis, Boots or online. A lady at the bus stop the other day was asking about the bus times and said I had skin like a babys' bum! I took it as a compliment!

I have been using Trinny London for a while. Light coverage but makes skin look smoother.

Can anyone recommend a full cover leg "foundation" cream to cover a varicose vein & thread veins please. They are unsightly & just want to disguise them a little so I dont have to wear tights in the heat. I am very self continue of them.

I recommend Boots No.7 lift & luminate triple action foundation.I moisturize, then put on No. 7 Airbrush Away before the foundation. I am so impressed with this. It actually looks better later in the day.

Have you tried Sally Hansen Airbrush legs? I use it sometimes in the Summer when I have to dress up a bit but don't want to wear tights. Usually sold in Boots and Superdrug I think.

There's also one by Dermablend which is supposed to be good but I haven't tried it.

If you can get away with just a bit of concealer, then it’s great when bed time comes round and cleansing is quick and easy .
