I haven’t bought anything new to wear for yonks, but posts from Roman appeared on my Facebook and I had a look. I quite like a few garments, the reviews are mostly very positive but as per post title, has anyone bought from this company? I’m wondering about quality of materials, how true-to-size the clothes are, and if you had any problems, was the company responsive?
I promised myself a good while back that for sustainability, etc. I didn’t need/wouldn’t buy anything new and would buy from charity shops, etc. instead. But, unfortunately, my local charity shops are 1) just not getting in/displaying many nice quality garments in my size and 2) those that I’ve seen in my size are imo, often ridiculously overpriced and/or poor quality.

I was very pleasantly surprised and the very few items that didn’t live up to my expectations, were quickly and easily returned.

I’ve not bought online from them , but I’ve been in one of their outlet shops and wasn’t impressed with the quality.

I have bought quite a few items from them. The clothes have been well made and the order has been sent promptly. Delivery is free and it is only £3 to send items back even if there are quite a few of them. If you want an item but in a different size you can send it back for free. I've found the dresses and trousers true to size but the blouses and jumpers have always been a bit big so I've had to have a smaller size. Many of the dresses have quite a stretchy fabric and can be pulled over your head rather than having to struggle with buttons or bios which as I have health problems I find this a plus. There are often good discounts in the sales and if an item is out of stock you can request an email for when it comes back in.

I love Roman - most of my clothes are from there.

I've had clothing from Roman too and always satisfied with my purchases. Medium range prices and quality but excellent for every day. Unfortunately I have to buy mine via Next Direct otherwise I would have to pay duty on my goods.

I used to be able to buy Roman Originals from our town's department store, Beales, but since it closed down I've bought similar styles of clothes from our local Bon Marche, roomy fitting rooms and pleasant staff. I don't shop online.

Sizes are true to size and quality seems good in my opinion

Love Roman!! I’ve been buying from them for years, mainly dresses, tops and jumpers. Very good sizing.

Had a few nice outfits from Roman! Some of their dresses are lovely for weddings - had a few of those in the last few years and not too expensive either.

Is it like Temu? I haven’t heard of it. I will google it.

I updated my wardrobe a couple of years ago and bought quite a few items for various occasions from Roman. Mid price range, good quality and very quick delivery.
I would agree that going online is the safest bet-using the website. A few times I have requested to be informed by email when an item I’ve like but which has not been available in my size is back in stock- and this system works well- notification via email arrived to go to website and order as said item was back in stock.
No complaints from me.

I never bought anything from Temu so wouldn't know. I always buy from Roman Original shops or outlets. Their clothes are reasonably priced but not bargain basement.

I think they are one of the few High Street shops I can go in and find clothes that feel right for me, although I will still always try charity shops too!

I have trousers and a jumper from Roman and I am pleased with the quality. Sizing is accurate.

I have bought several items from Roman, mostly from a shopping outlet near us so ai have seen the quality and fit.
It probably means it is not current fashion but that doesn’t bother me.
I find the tops are large so go down a size.
A couple of things I have bought online have not lived up to description sadly.
As they are not expensive I have just passed them on to friends in exchange for a bottle of wine!!

You can also buy Roman clothes at discount outlets , slightly cheaper - we have Cheshire oaks or Boundary mill outlet here in the North west

I buy from Roman and the clothes are fine although they never look as good on me as the models. 😏

I’m a big fan of Roman clothes……excellent choices and good quality. Absolute bargains in the seasonable sales

DeeAitch56 Wed 11-Feb-26 14:09:08

Yes I’ve bought several different items from them and have been very pleased with the quality, they do come up a little bit bigger than some other shops sizes and not enough to warrant buying the next size down

I have bought alot from Roman over the years and I will sat their return system.is very easy. Just open the bags carefully leave labels on etc so I wouldn't worry about trying a couple of things .

I’ve bought on line and from Roman shops with no problems - quick delivery and returns. I find the tops came up rather big on me and I have to go down a size. There is a lot more choice and offers on line.

I would suggest getting the next size up from your usual size. That was my experience of using them. Good Luck

I have bought a few items from Roman over the years. Dresses for a cruise were lovely but most recently I bought a sweater dress which bobbled up after one wear and lost its shape after one wash which was very disappointing.

Dedeottie Wed 11-Feb-26 14:34:12

I have bought a number of items over the years the most recent being a really pretty white blouse. The quality must be fairly good as they have lasted for years. I have bought from the actual shop and also online and both methods worked for me. X

depending on where you live there are Roman shops where you can look at the clothing. My issue with Roman is I went into a store and wanted trousers longer than 25" and the staff said I would have to order online. Why can't the shops have a variety of items in different sizes ?

I bought a dress online from Roman last summer. It looked so beautiful in the advert and I was delighted when it looked just as beautiful in the flesh. I've worn it quite a few times and I feel great in it, it's very "me". It's well made and true to size and, best of all, it was a bargain in the sale!
