Has anyone bought clothes from Roman?

I haven’t bought anything new to wear for yonks, but posts from Roman appeared on my Facebook and I had a look. I quite like a few garments, the reviews are mostly very positive but as per post title, has anyone bought from this company? I’m wondering about quality of materials, how true-to-size the clothes are, and if you had any problems, was the company responsive?
I promised myself a good while back that for sustainability, etc. I didn’t need/wouldn’t buy anything new and would buy from charity shops, etc. instead. But, unfortunately, my local charity shops are 1) just not getting in/displaying many nice quality garments in my size and 2) those that I’ve seen in my size are imo, often ridiculously overpriced and/or poor quality.

I've bought from them, both online and in local Roman Originals outlet shop. I've been very happy with the quality and sizing. It's my go to place rather than M&S now..

Bought a few items and always been ok

Thanks again for all your replies. I’ll have to do an online order, there’s no Roman stockists close to me.

I have bought a few things from there and was very happy with them. One word of caution though, don't click the link through FB. I did this at first then found out it was a scam. Luckily my bank flagged it as suspect and stopped the payment. Roman confirmed that there were some dodgy links to them via FB. Go direct through their website.

The jumper I get most complimented on came from Roman. OK quality but you get what you pay for. Would buy from them again and sizes are a little on the big size. I buy 10 rather than 12.

I buy a couple of pieces a year from Roman - mainly tops and dresses - and have found them all to be of good quality, they wash well and are enduring.

I have bought several items direct from the shop in Staines shopping Center. I have been pleased with the dress and tops.
I now tend to buy all my tops from vinted. It is all pre loved, second hand items and most of the tunic tops I’ve bought have been exactly right. You can buy whatever brand, colour, size you want.

I really like Roman clothes and have bought lots of smart tops etc. I buy through Next as I can collect in store. I find the sizing true to size.

I’ve recently bought from Roman. Link from a friend, to genuine Roman website. Very affordable jumpers, sizes if anything are larger. Quality is fine. I did return one item due to very oversized, and paid £3 to return it. I understand returns are free if you swap for a smaller size, or the item is faulty. My friend uses them frequently, I’d happily buy from again. It’s not haute couture, and not going to last for decades, but for the money I think it’s very good.

Roman is excellent for the price! Nothing like Temu who have quite a poor reputation.
If you return items to Roman the refund is super quick too.

I needed a black, formal, long-line jacket and the only one I could find was from Roman which I had not previously heard of. I was a bit dubious (got badly bitten by something called Damensein) but felt that I had no choice. Was very pleasantly surprised: excellent fit and quality, and a reasonable price though not cheap. Have looked on their webpage since but as I really don't need any more clothes haven't bought any thing else yet.

.

I only ever wear dresses and have bought over a dozen from Roman online (size 18).

I like that they give the lengths as I prefer midi styles (c) 125cm length now following two TKRs. Also most often online they have a video amongst the multi-view photographs with the model showing all aspects of the garments.

Many items are also available in a multitude of colours and shades.

I haven't had any problem with fabrics, whether with formal or day dresses. Delivery is great. I've only had to return one item and it was acknowledged at the time of return and the £s back into my account within days.

Maybe try a one off first? I suggest that you look at the Sale items on their website. You will also find that very often there's a Code at the top of the page for a further discount - at present an extra 10%.

The descriptions, photo's and videos give you a very clear idea if the garment is for you. If you like it then you are unlikely to be disappointed.

Agree.

I've only ever returned one dress. I had an e-mail before I got home from the P.O. and the refund was in my account within a few days. I did actually wonder if they'd even received the return when they processed my refund!!

Deliveries are very swift too.

Excellent customer service.

Another very satisfied customer here. My friend and I have purchased many tops, dresses and she has had trousers from them, all good quality (I've had some tops for years and many washings and they are fine). I'm only 5 feet tall so I buy jeans and trousers from Bon Marche which does a 25 inch leg length.

Silvertwigs Wed 11-Feb-26 17:49:21

I had a couple of bits, skirts, sizes were very generous and quality, not bad at all 🌷

Bought a long summer dress from them last year. It’s lovely. Good price. Think I got on to their site via mumsnet, or maybe this one.

I bought tops and jumpers from Roman for a few years. Now I'm not so keen on buying online due to their costs. There is an outlet in a shopping park 35 miles away I could visit but last time I was there variety was quite small. I did find quality and sizing good.

NannySue45 Wed 11-Feb-26 19:42:12

I've had several things from Roman and always been happy. Good value for money.

charliebb Wed 11-Feb-26 20:08:23

I've vmbought several tops and they've been perfect. Comfortable to wear fabrics, nice designs. I'd say go for it.

Thisismyname1953 Wed 11-Feb-26 20:40:11

I particularly like their capri pants for the summer . They do regular and petite sizes and lots of colours . The fabric is excellent and washes time and again with no fading or bobbling .

I have bought several items of knitwear from Roman. I love them and wear them frequently. They wash well and look as good as new.
I would stress that they are nothing like Temu who sell cheap polyester rubbish.

Thisismyname1953 Wed 11-Feb-26 21:09:57

You could also give a shop called Lands End a try too . Their prices are quite high but the quality of their clothes is excellent. They sell to the USA too so have mostly dual sizing but it’s easy to follow . Their cotton T Shirts are of really good quality and are often on sale for around £10 .
Even when they don’t have a sale on they often have an offer of 25% off full prices . It’s well worth giving them a go .

I've had a few jumpers and dresses from Roman, all good quality and usually a a urate reflection of the website pictures. What I really like about Roman is that they provide plenty of detail about the garment, including length (which most other retailers don't- very annoying) and also you see a video of a model wearing the garment so you can see how it hangs and moves. I find this invaluable, wish other retailers would follow suit. Never any problems with returns, either.

I bought a dress for a wedding about four years ago from Roman. I was very pleased with it and good true fit and length.for 16.
BUT it had a fine glittered pattern on it … sparkles fell off all over the place at the wedding, dark velvet sofas, deep blue dining chairs, people’s cars!
Roman took it back when I explained, even though I’d worn it. They gave me full refund as a voucher which expired before I ever used it, because I didn’t trust them. I might give them another look after all the positives above.
