Do threads sometimes disappear from the Forum?

Up until a few minutes ago I was on a thread about how we deal with trolls. Now I can't find it. Does anyone know why?

Nudged by someone on that thread I've just spent ages (about an hour) filling in full details on my Profile (someone had suggested I "go blue" ie fill in my profile) I polished it up and pressed SAVE. It immediately disappeared and I still have no public profile.

On another thread I've had a message deleted. I've no idea why. I've asked why. In a PM if necessary.

What's going on? Isn't transparency part of this Forum. If Gransnet admin are taking actions that's fine. But please tell us what you're doing and why. This is just confusing, no fun, and if we've transgressed we've no idea how not to next time!

Unhappy sad

It's called a joke JO google it! grin

Just been there to check. Both missing.

It is just like some of your jokes, JO5 , don't you like it?

You thought I was being nasty to someone else, then when you found that it was absent (and incidentally not being nasty at all) you said that was OK. So I joked that as I now had your permission I would have to find something bad to say. Later I said that having your permission did not make it compulsory. To be honest I couldn't think of anything nasty to say to absent

Is it clear now what it was all about?

MiceElf - is this not one of them?

Well done Ana,you beat me to it. I was going to say that The way forward is the nineteenth thread on the Religion and Spirituality forum. I don't know which thread about Catholicism MiceElf meant.

MiceElf Sun 25-Nov-12 11:25:39

There was one started by Jeni. It attracted quite a few responses and grew out of The Christian Gransnet one. I can find it if I Google it but not on the Forum Index. Perhaps it's been banned as unsuitable.

Ana Sun 25-Nov-12 11:39:05

No, it's in Chat!

jeni Sun 25-Nov-12 11:40:30

I started a thread?confused
Don't remember that.

Ana Sun 25-Nov-12 11:42:35

(In case you were wondering, I didn't trawl through all the Forum topics! I googled it and noticed it wasn't started in Religion & Spirituality, but Chat)

Ummm. I think I can follow your convoluted way of thinking Elegran.

It must take quite a high level of a certain personality trait to think like you do.

jO5 Sun 25-Nov-12 18:21:44

You seem to have your share too Nanadog.

MiceElf Sun 25-Nov-12 18:28:17

Wow. Impressed! But Chat......

Nanadog Sun 25-Nov-12 20:23:02

If I'm being bracketed with Elegran I'll take that as a compliment hmm JO

Elegran Sun 25-Nov-12 20:26:51

Are you going to tell me what trait that is Jings ? You are not usually so coy.

annodomini Sun 25-Nov-12 20:50:39

For goodness' sake! Elegran convoluted? Her mode of expression is as clear as or clearer than almost anyone else's on these forums.

Elegran Sun 25-Nov-12 21:21:01

I don't think jings is going to tell me what trait I have that she doesn't like. I won't wait around to see, I have been on here long enough already.
