I keep thinking of putting app on my phone.

At the moment I use laptop, log in put security number in. press my little calculator thingy, etc etc all seems long winded these days.

I sometimes transfer bit of money to dd.
But can only do it when I'm home near the laptop.

There's many a time I need to do it when I'm out n about but always have to wait until I get home.

I suppose its about security, but doing from laptop probably still has its risks. hmm

My husband has a mobile banking app on his phone. He's never had any problems with it and uses it regularly.

I use a banking app and haven’t had any problems. It’s easy to use and very useful.
Just remember to avoid using it if you are connected to a public WiFi.

I’ve used it for years, it makes everything so simple. I have heard scare stories about it, but it seems nothing is really 100% secure.

I have two, both accessed by fingerprint. I find them very convenient. Nothing is entirely secure but I am happy to use them.

I use mine all the time - it’s great.

I bank with 2 banks that have no branches ( one for 20 years) , and I’ve never had an issue. I believe the app is as secure as any digital transaction.

Mine has various levels of security ( which I sometimes complain about because it seems long winded) but I know it’s for my security at the end of the day.

No, I don`t I think its because a phone is easier to lose than a laptop. I know its just as secure with passwords etc but just doesn`t feel that way.

I have just had the app added to my phone and even I can use it, I have not just yet as I am finding my way around this phone. When I asked I was told it was really safe.

I use it all the time and have done since my sister who is an IT whiz said she did.

Having lost 3 phones, can you believe it, I don't use an app for banking.

I've used the banking app on my phone for a while now, encouraged by my Granddaughters.
We were out somewhere, I'd changed bags and forgotten my card when I realized I needed petrol, one of them told me not to worry as she had her phone with her. To which I gave her a confused look and asked how that would help and was amazed when she just tapped her phone on the payment terminal thingy.
They thought my wonderment was hysterical. ?
It's fingerprint recognition and I find it very useful, more than I thought I would. Plus I can now 'dink' my phone and pay without carrying cards around. ?

I use my phone to pay for goods and have all my accounts on apps.
It is fingerprint and pass code protected.
So simple.

tanith Sat 11-Jan-20 19:59:02

Mine only asks for my pin

bikergran Sat 11-Jan-20 20:01:23

ok thanks all

SueDonim Sat 11-Jan-20 20:13:45

It’s v easy and mine uses fingerprint ID. I’ve never had a problem with it. smile

I feel the same as chris8888 - even if all the security is the same, it's much easier to lose a phone than a laptop and once someone has hold of it, if they know what they are doing it is possible to hack in.

Use it mostly on iPad but have it on phone as well really useful.

Poppyred Sat 11-Jan-20 20:42:07

Yes, very useful.

I use the NatWest app on my phone and consider it brilliant! However did I manage without it?

NotSpaghetti Sat 11-Jan-20 23:40:35

I too have a bank app. It's on my iPad not my phone but I love that I only need my fingerprint to get in.
It's super-easy and fast.
Good luck!
