Alexa - what do you use yours for?

I do quizzes on it, use it as a timer and set my light to come on and go off automatically. I also listen to music

We have them in most rooms and used them loads.

We play the radio and playlists
Use it as a timer
Ask it random information
The weather forecast etc.

A couple of them are Alexa Shows so we have rolling pictures on display.

Same for us. We also use it for “ of the day “ when gs comes ie joke of the day,dinosaur of the day etc. Facts from Santa etc at Christmas time.

I wasn’t aware of quizzes Grandmabatty I’ll have to check that one out.

I am partially sighted so I use it as a timer and a daily alarm clock.

The weather, the news and free music. I have three, and I couldn't live without them.

I do 'The Question of the Day' grandmadinosaur. It's free although I'm always being asked to do Jeopardy or the Song Quiz which I just say no to

I don’t (use it).

Am I missing out? Probably.

Timers, shopping lists, recipes, reminders, photo albums, lots of music choices.

My GD asks ours random questions and always gets answers.

Never had one can I carry on living without one ?

I forgot - the grandchildren ask it to fart. This isn't compulsory!

I find mine excellent for timers and reminders..

Several of the above. My favourite is for my shopping list. When Irun out of something or think of something I need I just ask her to add it to my list.

I did have one but not now. I only used it for a timer because everything esle you had to pay for if you wanted any choice, and also if it's always on it's always listening...

I don't miss it at all.

I probably don’t use mine for as much as I could. At the moment it’s mostly for music - radio, playlists, searching for albums etc., kitchen timer (invaluable) and shopping lists. My doorbell is on the blink so I’m thinking of replacing it with one that will link to the echo dot.

I forgot that our doorbell is linked to it. That's a good feature.

We pay for music through Spotify so we don't get the adverts but listening to most radio stations is free. I would hate to be without ours.

We use it to speak to our daughter. It's lovely to actually see her and chat.

All of the above plus calculations, travelling distances, times in other countries if thinking of a phone call to relatives, weight conversions, word meanings, spellings etc. etc. we have the dot plus echo show . I’d be lost without them!
