We will be travelling to Northumberland in the summer (thanks to Robson Green!). As it is a long journey from the West Midlands and we have never travelled that far before, we would like to stop for a couple of hours, probably for lunch, somewhere mid-way but are unsure where. Has anyone any ideas?

J52, on the Newbiggin trail there is a cottage called Coble Cottage. That's where my husband's grandparents lived. However, when they were there it just consisted of two rooms and a bathroom out the back. I think it has been knocked into the next one.
Are we related?

DJ I will have to do a bit of research. I have some info about family history. GMs maiden name was Arckle. x

We did number and the best news is I was very naughty with my eating but due to the miles we walked, I didn't gain a pound! smile

Anyone from the area, Woodhorn Museum is doing a tally wall to commemorate those who lived and worked in the area.
