How brave are people about asking someone to move out of what is clearly your reserved train seat ? I travel to Birmingham fairly often lately and Cross Country always give a seat number on my ticket. What's the etiquette
on this ? I'm such a chicken !

Whenever I've had a reserved seat I can't clearly see which seat it refers to so a vague "now then who's sitting in seat-number-that's MY seat" has resulted in being completlely ignored!
One time I was on Trans pennine, not long after hip surgery so knew I definitely could not stand-said as above, completely ignored so said I CANNOT stand as am post operative, no-one budged. Mercifully a man behind me had his young son move so I could sit down-I said thank goodness I thought I was going to have to sit on the table!
Packed like cattle, no chance of finding anyone in authority to do something or even chance to find first class to upgrade.
