This reminds me. We flew to N Z direct to see my parents in law when our children were 2 and 3 years old
We refilled in L A and Honolulu. My mother came with us and she was in her 70s and I think she managed the flight better than we did.
The children ran up and down on the first leg Then just wanted to lie down and sleep after that.
At Auckland Airport there were lots of good looking men wearing formal suits and short trousers. After a long dark flight it was very bright in the sunshine. My in laws were really lovely to us.

I hate long haul flights and we always stay over for a few days on the way and make more of a trip of it rather than a nightmare flight. Just a thought.

We are in the process of planning a trip for late next year and would prefer to travel business class, given the distance. We are not in any frequent flyer programmes or anything similar. Is the cost likely to be huge or are there any ways of getting a good deal?

We have just booked a cruise around NZ and are booking our own flights for flexibility...this thread has been helpful. Thank you.
