I have traveled and lived in many different countries but my favourite places are all in England.

Burton on Trent

I love them for very different reasons but I will always be at my happiest in these places.

Like others, I find it hard to choose. Amongst many lovely places: Fidden on the Isle of Mull, overlooking Iona; Orkney, especially the Bay of Skaill; and home, because I live in a lovely part of the North Pennines.

Places are all about people to me.

Fort Myers Beach FL, the old harbour Valletta and Coombs Martin in Devon.

Our bed!
Anywhere on the coast, especially Cape Cod, eating a fresh lobster roll.
A cottage in France in the Tarn Valley.

Paphos, Cyprus

If it wasn't a terribly cheesy thing to say I would, if I'm being honest, say that my favourite place in the world is wherever my favourite people are - especially The Wonderful Man.

Cornwall, especially on the Helford River.
Norway, it's beautiful and we have many dear friends there.
East Devon, where I feel thankful every day that I live here.

(The first two from gorgeous memories from the past, rather than wanting to go there now. These days I go anywhere I am dragged)

My back garden, especially when the flowers are out.
The sea front at Exmouth when the sun is shining.
My fireside with a good book - not very exotic I'm afraid.
