Not worried in the least DD & I off for our regular week in Majorca mid May and Brexit is not going to stop me.

granjan66 Thu 07-Mar-19 12:00:32

No, spending Easter week in Lisbon.

Menopauselbitch Thu 07-Mar-19 12:01:49

I want everyone to stay at home due to Brexit then I will trawl all the holiday sites picking up the cheap bargains.

Visited Germany last week returned Tuesday by car. All ok until Belgian border - queue of lorries 40 miles long to Calais because of tests for no deal Brexit and every one would have to be checked. So they closed motorway without warning and stuck 2.5 hours until finally allowed off through side roads where there are lots of Gilets Jaunes protesting about fuel prices and disrupting traffic in towns and at ports/Tunnel. Pray we don’t get a No Deal Brexit (or preferably stay in EU for all its faults and help to make it better for everyone)

No need to change travel plans there wont be any changes until the end of the transition period according to an update we get, living here in Sweden, from the Foreign Office. We are going to the UK in two weeks before B day, I hope they let us back here when we come home!!

Check your travel insurance carefully, and of course, the reciprocal health agreements are defunct. Mobile phone charges and airport delays compensation are back to old systems.

Been booked for Portugal in May and Menorca in Sept since Christmas. Both are package holidays so will let TUI do the worrying.

For pities sake. Brexit, will not stop the world from revolving. If any one is 'dithering' but not wanting to give up their travel plans then have words .trusting they would have the sense to be taking out insurance. with the insurer.Voicing their uncertainties and the precautions they should they be taking.

No change here. We're traveling to Lanzarote at Easter with the whole family. As we live in Northern Ireland we are entitled to Irish passports. If we have any hassle this year we will consider getting Irish passports.

Doreen5 Thu 07-Mar-19 12:34:50

Definitely not changing travel arrangements. We travelled to Europe before entering the EU years ago so we'll do it after we've left. No problem!

Nanniesea Thu 07-Mar-19 12:41:06

I’m not cancelling my pre arranged trips to the EU or the states. It is all scaremongering. My DH works for a European company and they have been told nothing will change. I

Nanniesea Thu 07-Mar-19 12:42:07

He he he, I love your thinking.

Hazeld Thu 07-Mar-19 13:05:55

I really can't understand why people would want to. All this talk over Brexit and how much more difficult things are going to be after Bday is just scaremongering by the BBC. Carry on as you were before. I really can't see there's going to be any problems and besides which they need us more than we need them.

Cabbie21 Thu 07-Mar-19 13:35:30

Just heard an announcement about reciprocal arrangement for flights to and from Europe for four years. EHIC health cards won’t be valid if we leave, so make sure you have insurance. Drivers may need an international driving license. Expect delays at customs. Otherwise fine. European countries will want tourists.

quizqueen Thu 07-Mar-19 13:56:20

mcem, it must be really difficult to live in the USA if you are a Trump supporter because both the Democrats and the Republicans are trying to stop him doing everything he was voted in for!

petra Thu 07-Mar-19 14:01:23

It's obvious that the majority of poster here didn't take heed of Jura2s predictions on 13th Oct. 2018.
Tunnel might close
M26 will be a car park
Ferries will be blocked
And, no flights.
wink

lemongrove Thu 07-Mar-19 14:10:26

Actually Petra it was more ‘planes will be falling out of the sky’ from some.grin

Nope, am not changing any plans for this year.
Gabriella I like the sound of the driving holiday along the Amalfi coast, we did that years ago BC ( before children) from Sorrento, it was wonderful.
As you drive along, play ‘On Days Like These’ Matt Monroe
(The Italian Job) smile

Lily65 Thu 07-Mar-19 14:15:57

No change for us either. We will be going to the chalet at Skeggy . Can't wait.

sarahellenwhitney Thu 07-Mar-19 14:21:27

Petra
Re tunnel might closegrin
I recall the day that saw its official opening , and watched it on TV making a recording of it and the shaking of hands of our Queen and the French President .
So should I , were this prediction of grinsuch a disaster come about, then put this recording up for sale to the highest bidder.???

POGS Thu 07-Mar-19 14:41:25

jura

Have you? It would be interesting to know as you started a thread on the subject.

What do you know we don't jura? Have you further information ?

We are hoping to visit family in Cyprus in April and so far we have checked our passports should be OK.

We always have Insurance so if reciprocal health care is an issue that will be covered.

If the planes are not flying then we are all buggered but so far I have only seen unreliable stories that could be a reality.

petra Thu 07-Mar-19 14:48:08

Any up dates on the plague of locusts.

Jalima1108 Thu 07-Mar-19 14:59:20

My EU passport is valid for another nine years - I won't get it confiscated and have to stay in somewhere dire like the Amalfi coast, Madeira, a beautiful Greek island will I?
shock

sarahellenwhitney Thu 07-Mar-19 15:06:02

Hazeld
I wonder on reading these Brexit doom and gloom predictions how on earth people coped with the fallout, from WW2, that were to change so many peoples lives for ever and with B being nothing in comparison.

VIOLETTE Thu 07-Mar-19 15:43:24

HA HA ! I live in France …..so no idea which channel at the airport I may have to go through …..NON EU I suppose ...or they may not let me back at all !!! …...ok then, I shall claim asylum in the UK …...free everything ! no problems ……grin
