Mosquitoes - bracelets or sprays????

We'll soon be on our way to OZ/NZ by way of Singapore. Our Singapore hotel is by the riverside and I want to enjoy a ride on the river and a stroll in the evening without getting bitten alive. Recently an advert for mosquito bracelets popped up on Facebook. They look like a plaited band worn around the wrists that allegedly keeps the mozzies away. Has anyone ever tried these? Or would I be better sticking with a spray?

I am super ocd about mossies lol I use lemon shower gel, shampoo and body moisturiser. I spray the room
and bedclothes with a few drops of lemon oil mixed with water before going out in the evening. I spray into the air in the bathroom and shut the door. I wear a bracelet and also spray pulse points. I used to be eaten alive now I only get around 2 bites over a 2 week period.

Rosiebee, we're in NZ at the moment (North Island), and I hate to tell you, but it's the worst year we've ever known for insect bites. Whenever we ho anywhere near water we are eaten alive! We've been using sprays, but haven't tried the bracelets. On the plus side, it's a beautiful summer!

Thanks for all replies. Lots to think about. We'll be doing a cruise around NZ so hope the sea air might blow the mozzies away.

I'm getting every anti mosquito spray and device possible. Where we're going the mosquitos carry malaria, zika virus and other nasties. This is one of the holidays that looked fun when booked months ago but which is seeming less attractive as we get nearer to departure!!

I always take some sort of spray repellent if going anywhere with mozzies. Seems to work fine.
Plus of course a tube of Anthisan for any bites that happen anyway!
