Does this happen in your house ..... you switch the tv on to find a film you've seen hundreds of times before but think 'oh I'll watch this'. Even though you've seen them loads of times you still enjoy them. In Tatty's house our guilty pleasures include Die Hard , The Running Man , Aliens , any Indiana Jones, Oh and dare I admit it Predator.

Realised I'd never actually seen Blade Runner so half watched it tonight [was balancing the books for tomorrow at the same time]. A film that needs more concentration I guess, but I found it very bleak. Will have to watch it again as it's a gap in my education.

Recently I find I'll watch most films with Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence or Sandra Bullock. Winters bones, hunger games and silver linings, I've enjoyed all 3. interested to watch her career develop, she has an instinctive talent. I also enjoy quite a lot of Clint Eastwood films, the ones he has directed like bridges of madison county'.'Trouble with the curve' liked amy adams in that and julie/julia and the singing one?! Argo was a good film. Descendants with gorgeous George. Crazy heart, Jeff Bridges. I liked the new version of 'True Grit'. Moneyball was a good film. Never let me go...made me cry!

Yes; I've followed Jennifer Lawrences career ever since Winters Bone. I don't know why they even bothered to look for anyone else to play Katniss when they were casting for The Hunger Games. I can't wait for the second film [out soon] but the third book is going to be split into two films so I'll have an extra year to wait. I've never really seen Sandra Bullock, but think I'll have to check her out.

My #1 is 'Priscilla Queen Of The Desert', the best feel-good movie of all time!
A close 2nd is 'Man For All Seasons', because I was totally in love with local boy Paul Schofield as a teenager.
As a Musical maniac, 'West Side Story' and 'Oklahoma!' top the bill, with 'Bugsy Malone' as my 'guilty pleasure'. I can sing every song from all of those and most other Musicals too wink

Hmmmn, this is difficult as there are such a lot ,but.....
Some Like It Hot
Midnight Run
It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World
Where Eagles Dare [best war film.]
South Pacific
Bugsy Malone
Back To The Future [all of them]
all the old Alistair Sim films,
Alfie [original version]
LOTR [all 3 films]
I have to say that I must be the only person in the world to NOT like Casablanca [or Humph]There is also a little known Peter Sellers comedy that is brilliant called After The Fox [set in Italy] I have watched this so many times.

The Apartment with Jack Lemmon and Shirley McLaine is my favourite Christmas film - must have seen it dozens of times but never tire of it. I also watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation if it's on. It helps me put any Christmas disasters in perspective.

My favourite is 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Last Christmas my husband surprised me with the new colour version which also included the black and white version. I also love Gone with the Wind. My Mum took me to see it as a child and said I must sit still because it was a long film. I did sit still and do now when it's on.
