Just in case you've missed it - the dishy Montalbano has a new series this evening. BBC 4 at 9pm. Blimey!! - I'll be awake after 10pm!!

HildaW...Monty Don...very tasty grin

HildaW Tue 28-Aug-12 14:56:19

Monty is delightful, have read a couple of his books and you soon realise that he is a devoted husband and father which is lovely to see nowadays. I am more than happily married (and an ugly old bat to boot) but one can still appreciate a charming human being from a distance.

Since we're on the subject of Montys, how about my favourite, Monty Halls? I always look forward to his TV programmes - and I like Reuben, the dog.

soop Tue 28-Aug-12 15:12:52

anno He's marvellous...as is Reuben grin

I have been terribly teased by my children for watching Montalbano. They say that it's rather tame and predictable and had a good laugh at me over it!! There was alot of talking yesterday evening which was quite hard to follow and I have to agree that I had worked out the ending. Despite this I find it really entertaining and will keep on watching!!

Marelli Sun 09-Sept-12 11:42:46

gangy5 - I had problems keeping up with the story last night as well. I think that was because I was on Gransnet all evening and wasn't concentrating on the story. grin Thankfully, it's easy to work out and lovely to watch! wink

gracesmum Sun 09-Sept-12 12:07:29

I even forwent (?) Last Night of the Proms to watch Montalbano and was not disappointed! I am constantly amused at this red blooded Italian resisting scantily clad ladies or porn videos in a distincly un Italian way!!

soop Sun 09-Sept-12 12:34:18

gracesmum I like the fact that he's not an "easy catch" ...he's utterly gorgeous, isn't he?

Marelli Sun 09-Sept-12 16:29:32

Sigh....! grin I cannot stop looking at his bandy legs.....even when he has his trousers on......wink

gracesmum Sun 09-Sept-12 16:58:17

And when they are off...................................grin??

soop Sun 09-Sept-12 17:15:50

Was it our very own innocent Nellie who said - but you don't notice them [the legs] when he's under the duvet! grin

Marelli Sun 09-Sept-12 17:19:19

But they're such strong legs......grin

soop Sun 09-Sept-12 17:55:39

Quite! wink

gangy5 Sun 09-Sept-12 19:01:03

Do you think that he was once in the Italian Mounted Police? - cause of the legs!!
It all adds to his appeal - not being perfect!!

vegasmags Sun 09-Sept-12 19:08:32

I think his legs are so bandy to accommodate the size of his Sicilian meatballs!

Marelli Sun 09-Sept-12 19:25:11

Oh veagasmags - you are a caution!! grin

Ella46 Sun 09-Sept-12 19:31:13

vegas shock

gangy5 Tue 11-Sept-12 17:04:48

Smashing response vegas- and I bet you they're knocking like mad!!!!

Silverbirch Tue 11-Sept-12 18:42:44

I love prog too. Think Montalbano is lovely and cuddly and I love being transported to sunny warm climes. Anyone notice how few people there seem to be about in the street scenes though! Guess very small population!?

gangy5 Tue 11-Sept-12 20:45:23

Yes, DH and I said just the same thing - nobody on the streets. Perhaps these scenes are filmed at the crack of dawn. It's a shame that it's not more populated as these scenes seem rather unrealistic. We love being transported to sunnier climes though and the scenery is wonderful.

soop Wed 12-Sept-12 12:26:38

Silver and gangy Yes, the streets are almost always empty and spic and span tidy too. Never mind, I'm always far too busy watching the dishy Montalbano to care about the scenery. Mind you, the sunlight bouncing off the pale walls, together with the deep shadows, create a feeling of tranquility. Sigh!

vegasmags Sun 23-Sept-12 17:14:47

Just caught up on the latest episode on the I player. Is it my over-heated imagination or was he swimming in the alltogether in the closing scene? Blast it - it was just too far away for me to be sure.

Ana Sun 23-Sept-12 17:39:34

vegasmags, there seems to be a theme running through all your posts on this thread...grin

vegasmags Sun 23-Sept-12 17:41:17

And I make no apology for it Ana. Dreaming is now all I can do !

Marelli Sun 23-Sept-12 17:41:46

vegasmags....he was! wink
