Just in case you've missed it - the dishy Montalbano has a new series this evening. BBC 4 at 9pm. Blimey!! - I'll be awake after 10pm!!

vegasmags Sun 23-Sept-12 17:44:47

Thank you Marelli - just rushing off now to watch the closing scene again!

Who is going to tell Livia I want to know. How naughty of him I thought he was better than that!

petallus Tue 25-Sept-12 00:46:10

Montalbana, what a man, and the legs just add to his allure as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sorry he gave in to temptation the other night, especially as it seems he was just being used.

gangy5 Wed 26-Sept-12 17:18:08

You're right petallus those bent legs are sexy. I wasn't so keen on last weeks episode as the ending was rather predictable and I too was feeling for Livia - I get the feeling that she's not going to be around any more in this series. I love this series though and look forward to Saturday nights.
Is anyone watching Dallas this time round? I just can't get into it - last time I was hooked. Perhaps it's my age.

whenim64 Wed 26-Sept-12 17:29:51

I watched part of Montalbano for the first time last night. Really enjoyed it.

Deedaa Sun 25-Nov-12 15:51:43

Only just noticed this thread now the series is over! Saturday nights just aren't the same. Adore Salvo, but we don't see enough of him - in the books he is naked a lot more. Perhaps Italian TV is stricter on nudity? Also there's a lot more food in the books! Was able to watch beautiful scenery, sexy men and brush up me Italian - Win Win Win grin

Oh sad For a moment I thought he might be coming back!! Got quite excited there. Reaction not unlike Grace when you say "cats!!!" Ah well, maybe sometime soon.

Deedaa Sun 25-Nov-12 21:25:11

I've got them all recorded for when I get withdrawal! Anyway there's nothing like a bit of Sicilian sunshine while our weather's so appalling.

gracesmum Sun 25-Nov-12 21:29:42

Oh, I got all excited again.......then sad Now I really know how Grace feels when I say "Cats"!!!

Grannylin Sun 25-Nov-12 21:35:22

Just had a lovely holiday in Sicily and had warm sun all week-no sign of Montalbano though- in fact no-one even slightly resembling him sad.Come to think of it though, OH does have the bent legs grin

Apparently BBC4 has bought 4 more Montalbano programmes and also the prequel series which has been very successful in Italy. smile Don't know when we are likely to see them though.

vegasmags Mon 22-Apr-13 22:32:55

Ooh how exciting that news is Deeda! grin

Just meandered on another thread and happened to mention that Montalbano was back on Italian tv. I took a picture of the statue of Montalbano in Porto Empedocle (nothing like Luca) and I will try and post it when I've unpacked all the bags. The locals were always delighted if tourists had heard of Camilleri's or Montalbano . Ragusa is lovely and you can get maps of where everything is filmed. They even do tours. Luca got married this summer and has bought a house nearby

Excellent news. Montalbano is one of my favourite programmes. So different from the usual police procedural stuff. With the added bonus of great music and scenery.

annodomini Tue 23-Apr-13 16:01:02

I was a late convert to Montalbano, so will be delighted to see him back on our screens. smile

gangy5 Tue 23-Apr-13 17:15:27

Deedaa you aven't alf got me excited!! when I spotted the the new addition to the MONTALBANO thread. I look in the program list every week to see if he's there. Hopefully we haven't long to wait!!

Forzanonna Tue 23-Apr-13 21:30:03

Saw the second of the new series on Italian TV last night - up to standard I think.

gangy5 Wed 24-Apr-13 10:58:05

Hi Forzanonna - obviously Italian or you speak the lingo - lucky you!!

Deedaa Wed 24-Apr-13 21:14:15

The BBC are only saying it will be shown later this year but don't say how much later!

Forza Montalbano!

gangy5 Mon 13-May-13 15:40:45

Si, forza!!!!

Marelli Mon 13-May-13 18:46:05

Oh - I came on this thread thinking Montalbano was back sad. Sometimes I don't take the story in at all.....I just like looking at him grin

gracesmum Mon 13-May-13 18:51:42

And you don't need the subtitles for that!!
("Phwoar! ") grin

Marelli Mon 13-May-13 18:54:56

winkgrin

Forzanonna Mon 13-May-13 21:26:30

Glad to hear BBC will be showing it at some time as I missed 2 of the four new ones!

Deedaa Sun 13-Oct-13 21:36:00

Now that Young Montalbano has finished we have the real Inspector back next week - or the old, fat, bald one as I saw an Italian describe him grin
