I agree! Quirky but kind always

I like her too, and watching her tonight I also thought ' wow, wish I had her ahem, chest!' she is intelligent, amusing and a poker champion as well.

I've always liked her, she's obviously very intelligent and funny with it!

I liked her even more when I heard she was engaged to David Mitchell (they're now married) as he's one of my favourite tv personalities as well.

I find her amusing and always like it when she is on 'Have I got news for you'.

Roses she is well endowed and was very pregnant when filming this series. DH loves the way she dresses to accentuate these curves!

She always manages to be witty rather than either spiteful or puerile like so many of the current "funny" people. I can't stand the sort of celebs who go round saying "I'm rubbish!" " I don't know anything" as if it's an accomplishment, Victoria doesn't mind displaying her intelligence.

Pittcity's husband is not alone. Joan Bakewell's successor as the thinking man's crumpet.

They have a little girl now - Audrey I believe. I read David's autobiography and his chapter about her was very touching. He was happy to admit that he was mad about her, and went through a year of misery when she was going out with someone else.

It is good to see someone who is so intelligent, but not arrogant or overbearing. Good for her!

Me too, on all these likes. They both seem to be very intelligent people, with a quick wit, must be good company at a party. Thank goodness for some basic names for their daughter there, nothing wrong with new names but it is nice to hear some of the old ones again.

A very clever lady and a professional poker player. I'm not keen on the programme I'd like to see her with something more meaty possibly a current affairs programme.

She's also a world class poker player, I once read an interview with her when she talked about playing cards with family and friends as a child.
But I find the questions on Only Connect very difficult, moreso than University Challenge.

I get very few of the answers on Only Connect first rounds - but seem to be better at the wall and the missing vowels. And as for University Challenge, between us we always get a few.

Her father was one of the wittiest satirical writers of our generation, at one time, editor of Punch.

Yes, I have most of Alan Coren's books of amusing short pieces, Golfing For Cats is my favourite, so many funny stories in that one.
Giles Coren seems a bit 'darker' to me, he seems a more complex character.

Luckygirl you can play the wall on line. Can be a bit time consuming if you're not careful. If I was bright enough I could do a link, sadly not the case. soontobe did a masterclass on a thread some time ago, I wasn't paying attention! Story of my life.

Only Connect makes me feel immensely stupid, more so than University Challenge. I do agree about Victoria Coren-Mitchell - she seems like a really pleasant person and not at all egotistical despite her many talents.

Glad I've read this thread for the update on Victoria's pregnancy, ...their little girl. I am so pleased for them both because, like the rest of you, I think they are both marvellous, very individual, and entirely suited to each other.

ps . Were the walls on last night's episode easier than usual? I actually got some of them!

I find the second round the hardest where you have to identify the fourth link. Sometimes we just look at eachother and say, 'Whaaaaaat?'

Another Coren Mitchell fan here (both of them. I once saw David confessing he's just like his character in Peep Show, which I think is wonderful).

We look forward to our brain workout on Mondays. I count how many I get right on University Challenge - double figures, just, last night, which might be a first and included several lucky guesses. Then I gloat a lot a bit if I beat OH to the few answers we get in Only Connect. The missing vowels round's my strongest and he hates it, so that's when he goes to put the kettle on and I've noone to witness my small triumphs. I'm very sad.
